Good grief:(

I would have given Joey the $25 without the DVD. Hey Joey how about offering shares in your future career? We invest now and you pay us back later:)

"ie. selling 'techniques' that aren't yours in the first place, which you acquired freely on the internet from others who were willing to help for free on a site where things are supposed to be free."

So, equally, anyone who uses these 'free' techniques should not be allowed to sell prints created with the culmination of all those 'free' techniques?

Btw, I have emails in my inbox going back three years...

i just stumbled here. went to joey's page. then his site.

my god. you are a damn good photographer. i thought i was pretty good at 16, but, man, i sucked compared.

i'm in. as an artist and art teacher, i'd be remiss not to support an extremely talented young artist. and, it's canadian postage, so that'll...cost more than international. o yeah. stupid canada post.

Joey, not sure if I still have them. Have to check storage. But I had like 100-200 blank DVD cases.

Hey Saj my post got deleted, but yeah man that would be awesome! I PM'd you sir.

That probably works, yeah. Or mouse-over dialogue boxes would be cool, not that hard to do I bet. I donno, maybe not if it's a video... I would think the DVD should include sample images at various stages so people can follow along with the workflow themselves.

R.

Sure, I'll do anything to suit your needs.
And yes, the video will include all that before/after jazz... ;-)

And thanks everyone for the continuing support! I'll have it done in no time, hang tight for now.

The donation will be set up through paypal and I can mail out DVD's or file discs. If this does not work for someone I can make specific arrangements for you.

I'm in too, bebbe.
Not because you're talented (you pretty much stink in my book) but because you have an EXCELLENT taste in vid equipment. Most people settle for those trendy Canons, but you know where it's at with the DVX100B. How'd you get so smart? You smarty pants you.

;)

Yeah, the DVX is an amazing camcorder and the look of the footage impresses me the most of it's competition. When you put a 35mm lens adapter on there, it has a very similar look to film. :-)

Ya Buddy! Of course!

You've earned my respect, and your good at the stuff ya do!
And your not one of those dips who goes "AW NO, IT DIDNT WORK! WAHH"
your like "Oh Cool! HAH That dudes finger is up his nose in the background!" and youve got the perfect amount of confidence, your not a prick, yet you achieve the goals you set for yourself.

Props Bruddah.

Add me to the list, Mr. L.. that's a great idea and for everybody who doesn't like the idea - go sit on a stump!!!

I think you are a genius and ingenius for coming up with the idea. If we can't help each other along, here, then why bother to be at an artistic site? You've given us so much visually, I'm happy to pay back monetarily.

ROCK ON, dude.

Looks like you are around $1,400

Maybe more by the time you get done.

Add me too Joey.... looks like you're on your way to getting this equipment! Good luck mate.

Hey Joey - you really should "autograph" each one. I know it was suggested and would take some time based on the number of copies ordered, but I think it would be cool. That way when you're rich and famous, your adoring EARLY fan base can say...

Thanks!

Joey, can I be on the list?
By the way, if you need some help with the film, I can surely try to give you hints and tips with editing/authoring, etc. I'm a video editor. :)

I think it's great that so many people wish to support one of our own. It's a testament to Joey's popularity.

I post this only to give addition help to everyone who's interested in the technique he uses. There's a free tutorial here that will walk you thru the process step by step. The whole website more or less uses this technique, so have a look at the galleries.

The technique on the site (and on other places on the web) is called "painting with light", but I can't tell the difference between it and "grunge".

This guy also uses the technique for more examples.

Again, I think choosing to support Joey is great, just giving some additional help for those who'd like to learn more :)

Thanks guys! I've updated the list. :-)

I'm hoping to shoot the footage this weekend and have the video done as soon as possible.

Pretty cool link, thanks. My tutorial will cover a lot more than that, but yes that is pretty similar to a technique I use sometimes. :-D
