Last minute arrangements and I find myself in a hotel room in Chicago. Only one night... but I am bored out of my skull. Took the hotel 2 hours to get the lan turned on in the room. I thought this stuff was automatic.

So I leave Alb. and my current challenge entry was at 5.7. I get here and it is 5.1. I hope it is due to the time difference.

Did I say I HATE traveling for work?

And the good news: I went over 10,000 profile views sometime during the flight out here.

Time to raid the mini bar and start voting.

There is no hotel bar to go to? Even if you don't drink, I've always enjoyed chatting with the bartender and listening to their various stories that result from working in a hotel bar...

No! I had to walk 2 miles to a store to stock it. And in reality I didn't stock it ...I just got what I like and it will be gone by night's end.

I used to hate the very idea of Chicago (country boy - big city - you get the idea) but lived in downtown (loop) Chicago for a couple of years (2002-2004)and learned to love the city. Vibrant - dynamic - alive place. Sorry you're stuck there. Sorry you won't get to experience more of it. Good trip home.

Concider yourself lucky.

For the last 8 months I have been stuck in a hotel room 4 nights a week every week...
and I have another 3 months to go.....

I don't know which is worse...being bored in a hotel in Chicago or coming home to find no messages on the machine and no mail in the box. How depressing it is when no one even realizes you are gone.
