I have nothing "new" and nothing "old" and must submit something. Yet I'm between meetings at work - the ol' MS Outlook popup just informed me I need to be at another one in 15 minutes, then there are two after that. And it's hot out. Damn hot. Probably going to get damn hotter and stay that way for, oh, six or seven months or so.
Ugh. It's just one of those days.
So, does anyone have a day job that they actually enjoy going to each and every day?? |

Nope... hate my job with a passion, but the money is too good to pass up on right now. Hopefully when I retire at 35 I'm sure that I will think that all the crap I deal with on a daily basis was worth it though (at least that is what I tell myself to get through the day)! :)

I hate my job and my boss! So thats why I screw off most of the day and surf DPC. I just hide the browser window with Visual Basic programming interface and when he see's all that code he shakes his head and leaves my office!
Most people cant cope when looking at code. :-P
Some day I will quit! |

Yesterday I went to download a client's image and the browser displayed the raw code for a lovely 64MB TIFF image ... |

There was some EXIF data right up near the top of the file, though I didn't bother trying to figure out more than a few fields.
I ended up switching to the dreaded IE browser to get to to simply download instead of display ... gotta modify some helper setting somewhere ... |

I actually love my job. Sure there are nights I don't want to go to work - but not because of the type of job I have - but because I'm not in the mood to do anything. lol Now my boss - he's not the best boss I've ever had, and my direct supervisor is a pain in the arse. But since neither are there on my midnight shift I can deal with them the few times we make contact.

I ADORE my job. Sure there are days when it's tedious (like right now during those lovely state exams that all students must pass or else all kinds of things that suck will swoop down and destroy the educational system of Texas...oops...my bad...rant off), but overall, I can't imagine NOT working with kids who need folks who care about them most. I am a program director and counselor for pregnant and parenting teens, and every day is a new day. There is joy, pain, love, sadness, loss, and renewal all wrapped up in every student, and I am so lucky to get to be a part of it. I never dread coming to work in the mornings, and I never feel like I "work" for a living. I only wish everyone could be this content with their career choice. :)
