it also tends to bias your judgment on the merits of the photo because you're emotionally attached to your subject. We've all learned that lesson the hard way a time or two ;) |

i dont think I will get a Ribbon,but this is my 5th Challenge and its my best start.
As long I am making some progress and getting positive feedback, and I dont mean only "good" feedback, then I have got to be happy.
I think there are some wonderful portraits in this challenge
My score at the moment is 5.6000 with 2 comments |

top left of main page ... should show your submission and a few stats below it.

If it's not showing on the lefthand side of your front page, go to your Preferences page (under the My Home menu) and make sure you have the option to show scores ticked in the righthand column. |

I really had a lot of fun with my shot, but I'm taking a beating for it. oh well...

I just got one of the coolest comments on my pic. Had very little to do with the shot itself, but it described his personal reaction and why his reaction was (in my words) a bit radical. I realize that comments may be meant for critiqueing (sp?) technical aspects of a shot, but his description meant more to me than "it should have been cropped more" or "the lighting was awesome". What can you say - some ego stroking is nice. This comment made me feel great and that I had accomplished what I was trying to do in my picture. Which is really amazing since it has just been recently that I was trying to accomplish something more than taking a good snapshot of my kids.
