Barton Springs pool, Austin. Learning more and more about how to play with this lens.

I like the coloring and action in the shot, a good one to play with Lensbaby - but you've missed with the focus, only her knees are in clear focus. Lensbaby is tricky to get focus in the right place, especially hard with a moving object, I'm sure.

Actually that's one of my favourite parts of it. With a clear, obvious face in focus, it is about that particular person. With it blurred, there is a level of mystery to who the person is - though you can see she's having a good time from the big grin.
As I think I've mentioned before in some other threads, I'm getting more interested in photos that don't spell out everything for you or make everything obvious and clear cut. |

The colours are great and there's a real sense of fun, even without the face in sharp focus. That latter fact draws much more attention to the surroundings. I like it. Maybe I'll have to put one of these on my 'Next to Buy' list.

First impression I got of this was that it was one of those old pictures taken in the 70s or so. I think it's the white balance you chose, it give it that old color cast, which is pretty darn cool. I personally like the way you have it focused.
May have to look into gettin' me one of those babies soon, too

I dunno, maybe just a little old fashion but I have no use for the lens baby. If abstract is desired software will do almost all that is needed now with what is available. Once a distorted photo is taken it can never be either a sharp well defined and an abstract again. Then again I don't necessarily like Picaso either. Some like it so don't hate me for it. If I had one I think I would trade it for almost anything else and that's coming from a guy who has most every gaget ever made ... my wife keeps reminding me.
Great abstract look, it has it's place along side of picas and other impressionists ;)

I used to have a lensbaby, but i sold it because I couldn't deal with it.
I think you did a great job, I like it very much. I never could manage to get my subject so sharp! |
