too centered, skies burnt out, cross to dark...

if this was shot in RAW then expose one copy with the skies correctly lit and another copy with the cross correctly lit, might even do a third copy with the grass correctly lit and put them together in photoshop, this would give a much better image.

even if shot in jpeg you can still do this, just make copies of the picture in different layers and adjust each layer properly.

for a symetry picture the symetry must be 100%, 99% makes the image bad. you were standing about 3-5 feets to far to the right when you shot thit image, there is a small round object visible on the right side of the statue, if you would stand in the center then either the object would be visible on both sides or not visible on either side.

do some work on the image and it might look good, as it is it's not working...

just my 2¢

critique not to be taken too seriously, I'm a photography student and I'm being tought to be extreem in my critique ;)

hm.... maybe its the monitor i'm using but it looks a pretty darn good exposure given the situation, certainly not a straight out the camera silhouette w/ blown out skies...i would have said if anything it might prefer a little LESS perfection, so its more natural but its pretty good as is imho. The right hand side of sky down the bottom is a little blown out though.

the main problem that this has and no perfect exposure will ever fix is that it lacks interesting. The subject just isnt compelling
