The results of Children's Toy (Challenge 473) have been recalculated due to a disqualification. The entry previously ranked in 122nd place was disqualified for use of layers with blending modes other than Normal. |

LOL - The are currently playing at Centurion in Pretoria - OK, not currently - they are now sleeping - Kiwis had a good first day. SA batted first, and at stumps were 280 (round about) for 8.
Can't wait for tomorrow. Its been a while since I saw the Kiwis playing. Some new faces - good swing boulers.

I don't understand the reason behind the DQ on 87.. "Explicit content like this is forbidden by our Terms of Use." ??? |

I thought it was cute and cleaver, Explicit content is the part I don't get. Its not like ya used spot editing or a layer, just a sudden chastise of Explicit content. What ever the heck that means. Seems rather make it up as we go along to me... |

Booooo.
Give me a friggin' break.
Who's to say it isn't that "near bud" legally sold and advertised in the pages of High Times that look like the real thing but isn't?
Pretty weak DQ and rule.

I assume it was this section that it violated...

I don't see how this encourages the use of anything. Seriously, it's a prop in a still-life -- unless plastic toys are huffing it down when we're not looking. :\
Incidently, I saw Bob carrying a bush for a landscaping project.

Do you honestly mean to tell me that a majority of the Site Council voted to DQ this image? This is a new low. |

Reading that rule - there goes my Candid entry - If they only knew the truth. These days kids anyhow play more with weed that they do with toys. I joint actualy would've been a much more realistic entry in this challnge than the Teddy waiting for Salmon.

The reason was stated incorrectly on this entry and has since been corrected. The correct reason is from the Terms of Use, but should be "4.2 You will not use the DPChallenge.com Service to post content or to design, manufacture, market or sell a Product that (viii) encourages the use of drugs or the under-age use of alcohol or cigarettes."
Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

I thought shots like this were okay as long as no one was using the substance.i.e. smoking in this case.

I think it is due to the under age part : "market or sell a Product that (viii) encourages the use of drugs or the under-age use of alcohol or cigarettes."
The use of toys made it aimed at children. Just my guess

Your guess is correct.
Bob the Builder is popular with pre-schoolers, not your typical tokin' age group, eh? |

Ahh ok .. BUT .. this statement "You will not use the DPChallenge.com Service to post content or to design, manufacture, market or sell a Product that (viii) encourages the use of drugs OR " to me kind of applies to all shots that would involve drugs, not just the under-age gang. It's that OR that is making me wonder. |

are canadian member rules different? i mean really this seems a bit off kilter - you could barely tell it was a bud. who's to say the water in my glasses isn't liquid acid...
just to clarify the mushroom variety is not a grocery store type... and the hibiscus is a misnomer...
yet the photographs are quality.

That's correct. The "use of drugs" part is not restricted to minors; though the cigarettes part is.
This rule does not prohibit any depiction of drugs, just those that "encourage" their use. So far as I can remember, this is the first time a photograph on DPChallenge has done so.
