What's your style?
Got a flash unit?
What size is the church?
PJ wedding pros run a 17-40/16-35 or sigma 18-50 2.8 and a 70-200 2.8/80-200 2.8.
depends on your style - some like the 24-70/28-75 tamron.
i know some pros that like one zoom for most all of it.
for the church you often have to run no flash, so fast matters, as does high iso. no one gets thes shots at 10x13, so don't worry too much about noise. color matters and many churches have color issues - not an issue yo u have enough flash to make it the primary light source, but otherwise you get all kinds of mixed light shots. (b&w is your friend!)
what kind of access can you get at the church? most places have restructions, some none, some severe ones. this will effect your choice of lenses.
do you have a belt sytsem or some way to easily carry estra batts/cards and a lens or two? two bodies with different lenses is optimum.
I have used the sigma 18-50 2.8, 50 1.8, and tamron 24-135 3.5-5.6 (with flash). I have only been to one wedding with my 70-210 2.8 and the chruch was about the size of your smallest bedroom. I have since fallen in love with my 70-210 2.8 and it will be my primary lens, with the 18-50 2.8 on my rebel, with the 50 1.8 at the ready for some shots.
you just have to learn what works for you - your style, your likes and dislikes, etc.
