I amend my statement to say, "the same typical yellowish color cast I see in my own low light level images". I'm speaking from my own experience. I almost never take a low light level image that doesn't have a warm toned color cast to it and I can assure you it is never intentional. I see that in many other photographer's work as well so I generalized the statement. Apparently I am wrong.
Your experience is obviously different from mine.

I'll ammend mine too. Auto white balance pretty much may be the cause. I'm not sure you are shooting Auto WB or not, but I can see that it could be fouled in low light.
You should, in this case, either do a custom white balance or shoot in RAW and set white balance accordingly. Not exactly sure the settings for WB are accurate in low light either, thus the need for some control.

Chili. Wait until after the challenge and we'll work on the pic tips/trashin' :) If you need more, post in the individual photo section of the forums.
I've found recently that I picked up like 12 comments (which is a significant number of my total comments) just from passing out thought-out comments on pictures in the low-key. These comments were on pictures in my portfolio, not in challenges.
Give and you shall receive.
I try to vote 25%-50% on challenges that I submit to and comment on 10-15% minimum. If I have time, I go for 20% comments.
Fotoman. That's one of the funniest blonde jokes that I don't think I could get away with repeating.
Could it be considered a personal attack if I feel that you are deliberately trying to make me spray dinner on to my computer and screen and cause damage? Huh? Huh? What's that?
;)
WB can be a real pain ESPECIALLY for cameras that don't have RAW shooting. My cam doesn't have it, but these days I am doing a lot better about controlling light temperature in my 'apartment' shots. I specifically altered the color profiling of my pic, so I'm pretty sure there's no indeliberate color casting (that could be worked around within the legalities of basic editing that is). |
