It starts at the rollover this Sunday. That week will last through the end of the open challenge the following Tuesday. However, a new week will start on Sunday night for the member challenges, so there will be an overlap of a few days.

Provisional Rules: subject to change or amendment prior to the start of competition
1. The WPL contains two Divisions, World and Global. Each division has five teams and each team has seven photographers.
2. Knowing that not every photographer will be able to participate in a challenge every week, no team will be penalized because they do not have tseven photographers entered in a given week.
The AVERAGES of the team's partcipating photographers in a given week will be added, and the total will be divided by the number of participating photographers to determine the TEAM AVERAGE for that week.
At least 4 photographers on a team must participate each week. If fewer than 4 photographers on a team particpate in a given week, that team will forfeit their match and their opponent will receive the win even if their team average is lower than the forfeiting team's.
3. If a team has a photographer DQ'ed under DPChallenge rules then the DQ'ed photographer will receive a score of 0.0000 and the team's average will be calculated as if the DQ'ed photographer had participated. Example: if all seven photographers participated and one was DQ'ed the the team total will still be divisible by seven. NOT six.
4. Teams vs. Teams does not have to be in the same challenge. One team may be in one challenge while another team is in another.
5. Any photographer can be in any challenge for which they are eligible. All photographers on the team can be in different challenges. This will allow R-Users to participate with Members. If a photographer enters more than one challenge per week, the team score will be calculated using that photographer's higher score.
6. After five weeks there will be a winner in each division, and one wild-card from the remaining teams will join the winners in the playoffs. The division winning team with the highest average will have a bye-week while the other division winner plays the wild-card team. The winner of that match will play the highest division winner for the championship.

Question: If a team member competes in more than one challenge in a given week, then which of his/her entries counts toward the team's total? Does he/she get to choose? Is it the higher score? :-) |

Logos fine, but I thought we were going to find a better name? I threw out a few chezzy ones like " The F Stops Here" or "The Fighting Zuikos".

I'm open for any and all suggestions for the name, I'm not very imaginative, so toss any ideas out that you want. And we can kick up a Logo. Yeah the lens is awesome I shot with it last weekend and shot an assembly with it this am. Have a shoot this weekend at the track as well. I am loving it thanks again. Let me know about the name, my PS skills are limited, but I am off today so I can play a little in between editing photos, which is what I should be doing now!

I'm ok with 'Team Olympus' quite frankly. It's simple, easy to remember.
But I'm good with whatever.
How about 'The Fighting Olympians'? That would still fit with Matto's logo and keep the camera brand in the team name...

MattO could you also try to work on my idea of the Olympians with the Greek god and the bulging muscles like I have said before I have zilch skills in that area,will leave it up to you creative people! Modge was going to have a go too!
As the name I am open to ideas Stevens ones were good Modge also had some posted a while ago I will go and find them,but i think we need to dedcide before i go to work in 1 and a half hours ( all this mucking around is not a good look!). |

I am horrible with names, but just to throw a few ideas out there...if we want to keep with the Olympus theme: Mount Olympus, Team Mytikas (name of the peak of Mount Olympus), uh....I dunno.
Or we could get more creative and use something like Aperture's Edge, Gravity Perspective, Hooked Focus....just throwing random things out there.
I could design a decent logo once we agree on a name :) |
