The Sony DSC-F707 can't take pictures in black and white. I know I can change it in photoshop, but it really sucks that I can't see what it looks like when i take it. Damn the man.

They replaced the b/w with sepia... i sorta don't like that either cause i can't effectively use my red filter... :(

I know what you mean. I just purchased the 707 two days ago upgrading from my sony dsc-p30 which had b&w and sepia....

I don't like shooting in b/w anyway. I do convert a lot of stuff to b/w but I would rather make that conversion myself with software rather than let the camera do it.

I also like to have the image in color, because a lot of them work well both ways... I RARELY shoot in any mode other than color...

Am myself using DSC P30 since last few months and looking for an upgradation. Hows 707 better than P30? And what have you done with P30 now??

Thanks

The f707 is about a 100 times better. Fully manual. 5.0 megapixels instead of the p-30s 1.3. I can definately see the difference. The long exposure options of the f707 gives me endless possibilities in my style of photography compared with the p30s 2sec max exposure time. Very costly though. I got mine for $897.
