I just found a great site at //www.last.fm

It is a plugin for media player or itunes or whatever, and it detects what songs you listen to and saves them to your profile. It then recommends other artists you might like, based on other people who have similar tracks in their profile, keywords, and genres. It also recommends articles including the bands you most listen to. You can also set up groups, and broadcast recommendations and messages to the group. You can also listen to the group radio, which is a compilation of all the group's most popular songs and artists. It'll be interesting to see if we all have similar music tastes as photographers. For DPCers who like stats, I think it's a really interesting website, even just to browse if you don't participate :)

Oh and if anyone here is an artist, you can sign up as an artist as well and get your own tracks on the site available to download or buy or whatever.

OMG this is the best thing since sliced bread!!! I was supposed to be commenting on photos all afternoon, but I got so distracted by all the new music I've discovered...holy cow!

Konador, this is super-freakinly-awesomely-cool beans. Thanks, bud, you done good.

The one thing I noticed is that even when you register, you still need to join the DPChallenge group in order for us to collect group statistics...

So many times we see forum threads inquiring what other DPC members are listening to...here's a way for us to find out!

O.K., I'm already loving it!!!!

I just joined, entered a few artists that I like to "create a custom station". The first song that it selected, I had never heard before, but it was just my style. I think that this might be on constantly while I'm anywhere near my computer.

Thanks for bringing this site to my attention.

Glad you all like it so far :) I've spent all day just browsing it, when I should really have been working! So far, listening to the DPC group radio, the tracks are mostly mine, but as the group becomes larger and older, there will be a bit of everyone in there :)

Hey Konador, have you figured out how to review the artists that you have entered into your radio station. Whan I surf the site and return to add another artist that I have just thought of, I find a blank entry box. I would think that the site remembers the artists that I have previously entered, but I would like to review those arists. Do you know how to view that list?

Thats cool, when I start to play like Chirs Botti, then I will have to share my music :)

But no jokes on this check it out...Just announced this week
Americas Hot Musicians Finally a reality show or contest for musicians! I miss the age requirements by 2 years, wich it will probably take me 2 years to improve..:) Could I work with the camera crew or cover the news stories as the photographer then?
I am dreaming while watching the moon view...:)

Does that mean that you play trumpet too? I do, and Chris Botti is one of my favorite trumpeters. Also, he is one of the first artists that I entered into my custom station on this website that Konador has turned us onto.

I wish there was some way for it to collect stats from my ipod when I update it since that's where I listen to most of my music. I'll unfortunately be pretty statless for awhile until I can get my music back onto a hard drive.
