If you won the lottery or got an unlimited shopping spree at a camera store - if money were no object - what camera/lenses/accessories would you buy - and why?

Canon 5D and all L glass ;)
This would augment my 20D so I would have a full frame and a body with a 1.6x crop ;) Nothing beats L glass baby ;) |

I'd buy that $80,000+ Canon EF 1200mm lens - JUST BECAUSE I CAN! |

If money were no object, why wouldn't you go for the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II at 16.7mpx. Or better yet, one of those digital Hasselblad's at 25mpx (or whatever insane resolution they are at now). |

I'd go medium format with digital backs or even large format with digital backs, plus everything Leica has to offer when they finally come with a digital M.

I'd keep what I have and add every Canon lens with an L on it, a 1D Mark II (for the weather seals), a 1Ds (for the mp) and a Leica Digilux 2 for a point and shoot.
I'd probably need a new Landrover too so I can transport all that stuff. And one or two dobermans to protect it. |

I'd try to buy some talent
And a few Playboy models ... and a HUGE studio full of equipment and maybe a private beach :-)

I'd shop like Rikki, for the the same reason that I wouldn't buy a Bentley when a Lexus or BMW will do nicely. ;-) |

The 5D me thinks so i would have a good camera for studio shoots as it is smaller i can take it out for just a run around camera (because i can). and my 1d markII for 8.5 frame jornalist photography plus again all the L lenses.
Then i would buy a studio flat in Edinburgh and the world will be my oyster.

If money were no object I'd travel non-stop and live in hotels, traveling between destinations in my own private jet. Forget the camera stuff. :)

I agree on the cars, but the resolution of the Mark II would be SWEET! Besides, if money were no object, I would probably have a large home with high ceilings and wall space that would need to be filled with my larger than poster-sized pictures taken with me new Mark II.....ahhh....to dream.....
Ok, back to work. :-( |

Probably a 1D Mark IIn and heaps of them long white primes.
8 fps is the antz pantz of sport shooting.
I'd also throw some spare change at an EOS-K mount adapter so I could continue to use the best short primes going around.
cheers,
bazz.

I would hire a full-time professional photographer. |

Even with no worries of cash flow, I would be happy with just a 5D and maybe 4 L glass lenses to cover all the ranges I shoot in. I'd spend even more traveling to meet my favorite photogs and spend some time shooting with them. BradP - you're first on my list :-)

1Ds for sure. killer camera
L glass to do it justice - since money is no object, only the best will do, probably have them done up in a custome shade of white, pearl maybe.
16-35, 24-105, 24-70 (why not both), 70-200 2.8 and the IS verison, some long glass too, a tilt shift and a 60MPE macro, a few prime lenses - the 85 1.2 i hear is good :)
Fully equipped studio, and a model or 20 to shoot.
bags and tripods and filters and such.
WYF, buy B&H and make it my personal kitbag!

I take it back. I wouldn't shop like Rikki, who'd pay somebody he's beating to enter his challenges for him. :-/ |

First thing I'd do is quit my full time job!! :) Second, buy a bigger home. Then I'd buy a Hasselblad, get a real studio, love my car so don't need one, then just see where life takes me .. once I start spending reasonably again :) Oh to dream..... |

if money is no object i'd get at least 3 of every camera and two of each prime, and L series. Heavy duty tripods. One of those 39mp MF cameras and all the nice lenses for it. A lot of studio lighting. |

if money were no object? i'd get on a boat and go. have the latest in laptop stuff, and great waterproof storage for the camera, and file from around the world. the sprog would get the most amazing upbringing and the man would be in seventh heaven.
i like the camera i'm with, but would probably go for a macro lens too. although i've had more than one lens before and never used any of them, even when i was shooting about 8 rolls a day (and this on an art student budget).
maybe take a phtoshop course?
this is the sea, at the end of a long arm. nine miles thataway, and the open waves...
