GOSH, those are GREAT scores Stareatthesun!

Mine is 5.3, 4.5, and 5.6 :)

The 5.6 is my Pick Two score. I can tell by that score that I am back again a bit. The other two were taken while my mojo was gone and I was sick. Even had the emergency room in my cards that week, but now my mojo is back for the education challenge. So I am pleased :)

I've only got two in the running right now, both respectable scores:

6.2058 and 6.1033

Better than the 5's I was stuck in for the longest time.

I have two as well. One is in the stratosphere and the other one? well it's burning in hell ;)

Just a quick question-

Is selective Black and White conversion allowed for basic editing? If so, is there a way to do this without it being deemed as cheating? (Can I cut the part I want from a colored pictrue and paste it into the black and white picture without it being considered spot editing?)

Thanks!

If its selective, then I would say no. Of coarse any changes have to be over the entire photo.

I will be in for the fun school games! :)

ok, im in, not sure how it will do, ive re-edited it so many times and I have reservations about it but it is most definitly education related so if I get a DNMC im going to strangle someone....

as far as I understand, the only legal way to achieve some kind of selective desaturation is to desaturate individual colors through a hue/saturation layer. So if the part you want colored differs in color from everything else, you may get what you want. Selecting a part of the image for desaturation or cutting and pasting parts of another image are a big no (the latter would be illegal even in an advanced challenge, but you can achieve the same efffect by using duplicate layers and masks)

Any edits in Basic must be applied to the entire photo. You CAN desaturate entire color channels, though. So if you have a picture of a red wagon in a green field, you can desaturate every color but red to make the wagon stand out.

Yeah, it happens sometimes. You felt the sweat, the heart started beating fast and the shot was lacking something. I would add another pencil :)
