Anyone have any cool trips planned?
Although not exotic, I'm heading to the Outer Banks in North Carolina in August, staying in an Ocean front home in the 4x4 area with Wild Horses and such. I'll definitely have my 100-400mm with 1.4x TC ready to rock.
Now, I just have to wait until the end of August (uggh).
What are your plans?
Edit: Subject should read "Who HAS..."

We will be driving to Florida at the end of June, 3 days to get there, stay in Walt Disney World for 7 days and we wil take 4 days to drive back here.
We want the boys (13 and 9 years old) to see WDW before they are too old. |

We are leaving in few hours. Rented cabin at Osage national park, OK.
No TV, No phone, No computer. Just peace and quite....think I can handle this for a few days. Much needed rest. |

I live in Florida. Have to travel 6 hours to WDW. Not easy with two disabled people, but we also want our son to see it at age 7. Our trip is planned for December so we can get in the after-hours Christmas festivities of lights.
If you haven't been to WDW before, try to get a few secrets under your belt before you go. Drinks in the park can cost upwards of $11 each if you aren't careful about where and when you shop. This is just one example. Also, walking. LOTS of walking so be prepared for that, or it costs $35 a day to rent a riding cart which you can switch off for those that get tired. Another thing to do is when you get to a park start at the FAR end of the park and not from the entrance. This way you will be done at the point of entrance so you can depart when you are done rather than end at the far end of the park, having the big walk back to the entrance/exit to look forward to.
The best thing to do is order the latest Disney Book. I forget what they call it, but if you want I can find out the name of it for you. It tells you a few tips and tricks. My brother goes about 4 times a year and owns a condo in the area, so we are pretty privy of what to do and watch for. Even then we are only spending 3 days and 2 nights and we know it will cost a mint. That is WITH Florida resident park passes. So if you are loaded..LOL..then don't worry about it, but if you are saving a budget for the trip, I suggest getting the book.

| My sister, my 11 yr. old daughter Kimberly, and I are driving (from the Cincinnati area) out to Seattle and back in June. We anticipate being gone about 3 weeks. We are looking now for different places to stop, along with the ordinary National Parks etc. I am really looking forward to it! |

It's spring break this week but hubby is working (he usually takes off) so he's going to get off just Thursday and Friday) so we're taking the 10 year old to the San Antonio zoo. I hope to meet up with SandyP, as we've only been friends through DPC and email.
Not sure about this summer. Alot depends on money. We spent a week last summer in Los Angeles and for the four of us, it nearly cost $4500, so I can't do that again. LOL
To all of you going somewhere, have a GREAT TRIP!!!

July: Kiwiness and Anastasia's nude/glamour workshop and Europe GTG in Muenster, Germany.
Late August/September: Home, Japan, India, St. Petersburg (Russia), something else -not sure yet-
January/February 2007: Nothern Finland to do either a combined hushy/reindeer/snowshoe trip or a multiple day husky trip, sleeping in wilderness cabins along the route.
April 2007: Attempt to get into the Fjallräven Polar Race (amateurs without any knowledge 'race' husky sledges in Scandinavia to test Fjallräven clothing).

I"ve been to Disney World three times this year....only live 4 hours away. I went in summer ( hot, hot, hot). I went around Christmas ( saw the beautiful light displays, and I just went several weeks ago. Never tire of going, and always enjoy something new. The next big vacation will probably be a long road trip to Maine to spend a week on Square Pond. We didn't get the opportunity to do it last year and we missed it.
I was also hoping to get a weekend in Key West again, but so far that trip has not happened either. Does anyone here travel with a dog? We have a new puppy so our travels at this moment have to include her. When she gets bigger and easier to handle we can leave her with family, etc.. |

I'm LIVING my vacation, right here on Cape Cod. I don't leave here much at all. It's a matter of economics more than anything else. I put everything I have into getting the house, and here I am :-) My little slice of heaven, on a severely limited income.
Robt.
