One idea for a new feature would be to see how a photo would rank among all of the pictures submitted for all challenges to date. It would be interesting to see a photo, rated at a 5.508 (or whatever) ranked in the top x% among all photos. Now that there are many challenges in the archives, it would be interesting to see how well a photo ranks in the grand scheme of things. Or maybe I'm the only one who would find that interesting? :)

I would like to see the "best of DPC" also, maybe 5 photos with the highest score... It would be interesting...

I agree with you there... I even thought of that and forgot to mention it in my post. That would be an interesting feature, I think. |

You can actually see the top 5 highest scores if you goto CHALLENGES and then goto ARCHIVED CHALLENGES. The highest score of all time belongs to Langdon, with his photo Eight ball corner pocket which was entered into the table shots challenge. The rest can also be found on that page. |

This would be interesting, but the scores would need to be averaged, i think, to make things more even. So many of the earlier winning scores were higher. I think this was because there were fewer photos to vote on to start with. |

The higher scores of old were probably back in the day when a photo was judged for it's photographic/artistic value rather than whether or not Webster's thinks that the challenge was met or not!

Agreed. There were only 22 entries into one of the challenges, makes you wonder how many people voted on them. The less people, seems like the averages are either dramastically higher, or dramastically lower. Less to average, like someone said earlier. |
