Should be possible. Dont see why it cant be done as long as the SC and Admins agree to it. The only issue remaining is how to govern that only those that passes the initial knockout can submit in the next round. any ideas? Langdon could use some help, I think :) |

Could each winner be e-mailed the next challenge so only they know what it is and when it is due. After the entry time is over all the viewers can see that the entries of the knockout challenge.

Gee thanks Leroy, wish I had that cheesy idea like yours though - even more impressive! But hint: watch out for my Afterlife submission later on :p |

I like the original with a week for each tier. My schedual is too busy for a two day dead line. Heck I havn't made a speed challenge yet.

To Re-Cap the Idea in Short for Those Who Haven't Seen It:
Week (round) 1: Challenge is given as usual- only the top 100 advance to round 2
Week (round) 2: Challenge is given, only top 100 scorers from previous round can submit- only the top 30 advance to round 3
Week (round) 3: Challenge is given, only top 30 scorers from previous round can submit- only top 10 advance to round 4
Week (round) 4: Challenge is given, only top 10 scorers from previous round can submit- special ribbons given to top 3 scorers
Obviously highly competitive and something interesting to watch. |

Sounds like a great idea to me. Just run it in parallel to the mainstream challenges then nobody can complain about being left out or missing out on their paid for challenges or something.
But sounds like it'd be fun. As long as you weren't 101, 31, 11th etc in each challenge ;) |

Great point on the running parallel thing... I was thinking the same.
And yes... those 101, 31, and 11 placers will be upset. The voting should be more fair than usual, however. Just imagine the views and votes each will recieve at round 3 and 4. Most won't be in it so their voting will be objective.
This type of thing is exactly what dpc needs right now. |

Crayon, I think this is an absolutely FANTASTIC idea. I am SO all for it. Something different and interesting. I would love this!! I'll enter, but even if I didn't it would even be interesting to watch. GREAT IDEA!!! AND one I think should be a mainstay for at least once a month!

I still like the idea of speeding up this proposed Challenge.
Round 1 (7 days): Only the top 100 advance to round 2
Round 2 (4 days): Only the top 30 advance to round 3
Round 3 (3 days): Only top 10 advance to round 4
Round 4 (2 days): Special ribbons given to top 3 scorers
(Or something like that).
This scenario would bring the Challenge from a 28 day walking marathon, to a 16 day high-action mad-dash scramble.
Speeds it up for those watching on the sidelines...
Puts some more pressure on the elite photogs...
More conducive to multiple KnockOut Challenges a year (due to the reduced time per challenge)...
..and MUCH MUCH MORE!!!
Give me some action!!

Well, I'm willing to go on the record as not being a fan. I favor challenges that encourage participation rather than observation. |

Even if there would be your "Regularly Scheduled Challenges" during that time period?
This one would be just additional...and you'd be able to participate, you just have to "make the cut" for the next rounds. |
