I have a series of photos that I took that I intended to use for a panorama.

I found that when I got home to review them that they all had very different exposures (shot with full auto mode). I tried to pano them but though the matching came out right the final image was badly exposed.

Here is a link to the final pano I made: kite festival pano

Is there a way or tool that anyone knows of to match exposure of several images in a sort of batch mode, e.g. feeding all images to some program and having it do auto exposure matching across the batch?

Or is this something that I have to eyeball myself one by one?

You need to shoot all the photos at the same exposure by using the manual exposure mode. It's very difficult, if not impossible, to correct fully. A couple pano stitching tools have automatic exposure adjustments that you may want to try out... try panorama factory...

Auto metering and panos never go together :( Shooting in RAw might make it easier to fix for different metering.

Lot's of programs out there to make panos, but you still need to eyeball it a bit yourself.

		| auto is not your friend in this case. Manual exposure, at least shutter and aperature. Manual white Balance is also a good idea. Expose for the brightest or darkest (depending) area. |
