What do you suggest for a good fairly inexpensive light meter, and simple to use that and idiot like me can use and understand.

I think the Sekonic L-358 is a good meter for the price.

Sekonic L-358
What do you need a light meter for, your camera already has one with three metering modes? The Sekonic is going to cost nearly as much as your camera. I'd use the money to save for a better camera. |

Going to use in the studio with slave flashes. I do fairly decent with the cameras metering modes, with the added flashes the metering modes are not factoring those. so its a trial and error till I get the right combo.
plus I am a gadget collector *LOL*

For studio work I reckon it would save one lots of time, working with external light sources and all...

If you want one that you can get pretty cheap, is very reliable and tough, it is analog, but....
Gossen Luna Pro F
is a great meter!! Ambient, direct and flash lighting...all to be had.
