I'm planning on heading to norway in about July - I think I'll have to make a side trip to Iceland...
Now if I can just get one of those ridiculously attractive Icelanders to entertain me while I'm there!

heheh... well Bazz, as much as the Aussies around here seem to be on a bit of a hot-streak I think the Icelandic folk have us covered...
On the other hand, a bit of patriotism might be enough to bring me out of my semi- retirement from dpc :P.
...and besides, I would like to try and reclaim some of that IstDS page from your greedy clutches!

How 'bout a "Shaved headed dads in the Suburbs of Philadelphia who are 6'4" or taller" Challenge?
I like the idea of the an Iceland Challenge - only if Heida would participate, though.

Hi Terry,
Personally I wouldn't object if it was an "additional" challenge that didn't impact on the normal DPC challenges.

G'day Anders
No doubt they do have us covered over the long term but thats partly because you haven't been submitting. :)

Not object to it, but why would we do that? It seems to me that the majority of the participants are US-based so it wouldn't be very special or unique. I could be wrong, though. That has happened in the past....

I had another thought along these lines...
We could have a "regional" challenge once a month that is in addition to the normal three weekly challenges. Start with Iceland, for instance, then the next month have Australia/New Zealand, then Europe, etc. For North America, which I suspect has the most participants, break it up a bit further - Northeast, Southwest, etc. May want to break up Europe too for all I know. No extra steps required by the SC - we operate on the honor system. Sure, there will be those who either don't pay attention to the rules or enter anyway - they'll be repaid during voting, I suspect.
One of the neat side benefits would be a lot of photos from a specific part of the world - kinda like a mini-vacation without the expensive air fare. |

Good idea, I like it but quite a few vocal members here find change hard to embrace. |

How about just letting everyone enter and you award ribbons based on top photos per region? That way you'd include everyone and you get to see what all the Icelanders can do. To make sure people didn't change their regions maybe just turn that field into read-only for just a while.

What would it achieve, aside from lowest score average in the history of DPC? :P
