I have a list of things I'd like to do in my life and towards the top of that list is get paid to photograph a surf competition!! Wellll as of last weekend I can put a big check mark by that one! :) Yay! My super cool friend let me borrow his Canon 400 mm 5.6 lens and I just had a grand old time out there! And to think I got paid to do it :) My college's club surf team was competing and the on campus newspaper wanted some pics! wooo hooo!! Here's what I came up with! Critiques more than welcome!

Very impressive! Congrats on the deal with the paper!
I'm jealous - wish I were shooting surfers in Cali...instead of fighting windchills here.

GREAT shots!!! I look forward to the same thing for kitesurfing. Very curious to how much it pays so that I might start thinking ballpark figures for myself.

i didnt get paid much... I am staff at the Associated Students, Inc. on campus and they just paid me my hourly wage (a whopping $7.25) plus drive time... but it was sooooo fun, i'd-a-done it for free!

I understand because I would too. Just don't tell the kitesurfing company that asked me to do some shoots for them. The owner of the company casually asked me "Do you like to travel, because we (he and his hired surfers) go all over the world?" I answered as casually as I could "Sure I do."
