Were all photographers, we all have stress. Any one find any ways of reducing it that was effective. I havent shot in over a week. I havent even edited any photos, or printed them. I tried running. That got rid of my anxiousness, but now im shaking alot and im sore. Let me know. Thanks.

fill the bath tub with cold water upto 5-6 inches deep, sit down dipping your lower body ( below waist) in the cold water for like 10mins.
It hurts for the first min, but you will feel better soon and soreness will go away :)

a temperature about 55F works, if the water feels too cold, mix hot or if the coldest isn't cold enough, add some ice

I'd highly recommend not doing that...that sounds painful to me.

Go rent a movie, lay down, and watch it...that helps me.

Would help if we had an idea of what kind of stress...
If it's stress in a relationship (business or personal), the best advice I can offer is to talk it out (as long as you feel safe doing so).
If it's stress from a job, try to identify what exactly is causing it. Too many hours? Coworkers annoying the pee out of you? Boss a tyrant? Unethical business practices? Sometimes simply identifying where it's coming from helps to alleviate some of it.
Is it stress from school? Taking too many classes? Trouble in a particular class? Personality conflict with a professor? Sometimes you can talk to your advisor and work out a lot of the things that may be causing stress in a school situation.

If you want to PM me and talk it over, you're welcome to. I don't know that I'll be able to offer any solutions, but I'm willing to be a shoulder to lean on.

I pop a xanax or two! LOL

Try sitting quietly and concentrating on your breathing. It helps me.

I'm a big believer in aromatherapy and in relaxation breathing. One technique I use in the school setting to help students with anxiety (especially test anxiety) or other immediate situations requiring something that works quickly is a combination of both.

For the aromatherapy, purchase a bottle or tube of peppermint-scented lotion or oil from a local Wal-Mart or whatever's nearest you. Keep it in your bag or your pocket if it's small. When you feel anxious or stressed, put a dime or nickel sized dollop on your hands, rub it in slowly, and then cup your hands around your mouth and nose.

This is where the breathing technique comes in...it's called Square Breathing, and what you do is inhale through your nose slowly, counting 1-2-3-4. Hold the breath in for a count of 1-2-3-4. Release the breath through your mouth while counting 1-2-3-4. Do not inhale again for a count of 1-2-3-4. Do this cycle again and again for a couple of minutes.

The combination of the controlled breathing and the peppermint scent really does aid in the reduction of anxiety and will clear your head a lot. It reduces panic attack symptoms and is a generally good technique for a lot of situations. Try it. It works. :)

That's sad to hear. For me, photography is stress relief. When ever I think, read, plan about, take shots, develop shots, review shots, or even talk with others about it, it relaxes me.

I just go down to the lab and break something. There's something satifying on a primal level about causing destruction that nothing much else seems to bother me for a while.

the best method i've found, so far, is illegal for some reason, yet provides more benefits than just stress relief...

the second best is a vacation.
