Valentines Day this year was astonishingly extravagant. :)

My boyfriend got me the Rebel XT (!!!!!) (with the kit), a 1 gig card to start off with, and the upgrade to Photoshop CS2!!!
*insert boastful strut here*

Plus I got flowers and chocolate and stuff but I can't really remember where I put those now, LOL. :) I think I got a couple cards too...

I have SO much to learn about this camera, but just my inital shots have come out AWESOME! What a *huge* jump from the SD300, which isn't a bad little camera to begin with! I brought it to my mom's house and showed my stepdad, who first said, "You got a camera for Valentine's Day? That's not romantic..." My response: "Hey, do I really look like I'm complaining?? Check out what this baby can do!" And then I snapped a quick picture of a wolf statue he has. He was instantly won over when he saw how gorgeous the image was. :)

Forget the romance... I couldn't be happier. :) I did tell my boyfriend, however, that last Valentine's Day he took me on a weekend trip to a Bed and Breakfast way deep in the woods... this year he gets me THIS... I can't WAIT to see my next year, lol!! :):)

*mental image of me doing the happy dance* :)

SO... any suggestions for a first-time user? I've already learned the importance of shooting in RAW, but that's about it.:)

I suggest that you marry him before he goes away... but then again, the presents may subside...

the fact that it took you almost 48 hours to tell us leads me to believe that boyfriend has more than been rewarded. :P

Err..
Ahem...
To keep it safe and all, I'll simply say this:

He's already thinking about my birthday gift, which isn't until July, because he now feels that the reward was well worth the effort... and he took Feb. 15th off work. :)

I will say that waiting 48 hours to brag about it nearly killed me, LOL.

All good, but what about pictures????

You have taken pictures, yes? Ones that can be safely posted, perhaps?

Of course!! :) I've taken a couple hundred... most of which are random shots of sticks and leaves, my dogs playing, beads hanging from a lamp, statues at my mother's house... soda cans, candles, .....you get the picture. :)

Here's the first image I took.. just to see how it came out straight from the box with nothing altered. :) It's just an old dusty doll that sits on a shelf.

Here are two of my puppy. :)

Hey Andrea,

Born and raised in Va Beach huh!? I went to Maury HS in Norfolk and graduated a few years ahead of you based on our ages. Which beach school did you grow up going to? Kempsville, Green Run, FC, PA, etc?

Congrats on the new camera. The boyfriend I'm sure has an all time high approval rating right now. I'm going to take a look at your work later on this evening.
