Anybody here speak French and can tell me what "Miam" means? I bought a pair of baby pants with a mice and mushroom print and some French words. They also have "Souris la gourmande" written on them. Couldn't get anything useful out of the free online translation websites.

Thanks in advance!

I may be a little rusty, but I think "Souris la gourmande" means "Help! This lady kidnapped me! Call the police!"

You may want to get a second opinion on this, however.

I always thought "miam" meant "meow", but bear points it means "yummy" and I believe that more!

and isn't "souris" mouse? and a "gourmande" is someone who enjoys good food, like a gourmet? I haven't taken french in many years though, so I defer!

Souris la gourmande -> The mouse which likes to eat.
Robert is right for miam.

I ran the "souris la gourmande" part and it came back with "smiles the glutton". I don't know, they are cute little pants. I was curious as to what it all meant. And I wanted to be sure I wasn't going to be dressing the baby in clothes that had obscure filthy French phrases :)

Lol, yes those internet translators cannot make the difference between souris=laugh and souris=mouse :)
Sometimes its an advantage to speak 5 languages.

Amazing! I lived in Switzerland from 1957-1961, as a child, and this just popped out of me when I saw "miam"... The mind, the memeory, is a cery strange thing...

Yes, meant yummy.
The rest a saying of sorts about a Greedy Mouse.

"La souris gourmande" means "The greedy mouse" or the "The gluttonous mouse". Miam is the French translation for yum.
