Today is my birthday and I got from my daughter an excellent book. It is Ć¢€œMastering black and white digital photographyĆ¢€ by Michael Freeman. I would highly recommend this book to all interested in B&W digital photography.

I second that. I have the book, and it is loaded with useful information. A tad expensive, but loaded with good information. It lives next to my computer.

does it cover just B/W or sepia tones too? I love sepia and would really like a book that focused more on that. Any one have any to suggest?

It covers duotones too. I think that you can apply the "B&W" information to any monochromatic photo. The book is well written and has a lot of examples and interesting facts about photography in general.
I like the book so much that I am going to check M.Freeman other book: Mastering olor Digital Photography - anybody seen it?
