Instead of having the photographers name under the photo, how about having the challenge title. Its obvious who the photo is by if it is on their profile page, so a name is not really needed :)

I agree with this. I'd like to see what challenges the top 4 photos were in rather than having to look it up in the table. That's hard when the person has submitted to lots and lots of challenges.

The most important thing I would like on my profile page, though, is some kind of alert when I get a new comment on an old photo. The number of comments it displays includes the new ones you've gotten on your current submissions, so you have to do some mental arithmetic if you want to find out if you got any new ones on old photos. That's if you remember how many it showed last time you checked, and I usually don't.

A little icon in the table of photos that says "new comment" when a new one is posted would be KEWL!! ^_^

I agree. Great ideas!

One other thing I noticed. When you view your own photo, it increases the number on your profile showing how many times that photo was viewed. That kind of skews that number. It would be nice if that number only increased if it was someone other than the owner that viewed the image.

I think it would also be cool to be able to see thumbnails of all photos the user has submitted in their profile.

Thoughts?

I noticed that when you click on the challenge name under the photo it is taking you to the challenge archive page. Shouldn't it be taking your to that particular challenges page? Just wondering.

What about the other 2 things I listed (additional thumbs & number viewed counting method)? Anyone else think those are good ideas?

It is so great to see that there are administrators and members of this site that really do care what the site members think and take action. That's a rare thing. This site just keeps getting better and better all the time! :-)

Thanks!

challenge_results.php?CHALLENGE_ID=

I don't know how easy this would be, but how about a PM to your email, saying you have a new comment on the photo.

heheh,
Timing is of the essence when requesting features :P

Some features are more fun or less coding than others -- both of which greatly appeal to us ;) But in all honesty, a lot of the feature requests are on hold while we work hard to get the prints & portfolios up.

Here's an easy way to check for new comments on old photos:

Select "My Profile" from the meny under "My Home." In the statistics box on the left, if you click the number next to "received" you will see your comments received, in the order they were made. If someone has recently commented on an old photo, it should stand out easily here. I check this about once a week.
