Thanks, I try, sometimes they come out the way you want and sometimes you get lucky...
The last shot with the three girls jumping I got lucky! The sad thing is is that a dance competition we go to every year, they are not going to allow us to take our own pics. And if we get caught that dance will be disqualified, it seems as though they are getting greedy. See they have a professional photographer come in and take shots but they aren't much better than mine...it's just the luck and skill knowing when the best elements are going to happen during a dance.... |

Beautiful images there, Angela! I left a few comments.
Here's one I recently dug up from a pile of old pics my mom gave me. Me and my sister when I was about 10. My sister was a year older than me - we were pretty close until she died at 22.
I think my dance pic is better than... well, better than the pickle. ;-) |

Angela - how far were you from the stage and what were your settings and focal length? Just curious - I'm taking some on March 4 (resting my camera on the balcony ledge) and am considering ordering a new (fast) zoom lens. |

Angela - I really like the last one also 'Down to the River'. Very nice capture. Bummer about the restrictions on shooting the event.
Good luck in your next competition!

Dance is tougher than I thought given the extremely low light situation and of course, fast movement. Those were from my first ever, dance shoot and I had a lot of fun doing it. Sad thing is that dancers are all pretty poor and there's no money in it unless you get hired by a profitable company. There aren't too many profitable dance companies out there, sadly.
