Sigma 10-20:

f/4 1/30 sec. manual exposure. Note, the blown out portion of the sky is from pp.

Sweet lens...quick, smooth focus -- faster than the Tokina 12-24 and smoother. The lens hood is better than any petal-type hood I've seen or used, both Nikon and Tokina.

Color seems to come through good, I took a lot of test shots, but I don't want to bore you all with them...take my word for it, or do a search, there's plenty of reviews out there.

Just incase you want to see it again, here's a shot taken in the same location (my back yard) with the Tokina 12-24...truck is at a different angle, slightly different time of day, different position, different distance to the truck ... but just incase lol.

Tokina 12-24:

Dave - sounds like your really enjoying the new lens. That's great. How about setting up and taking two shots - one with each of the lenses - same exposure factors, distance, angle, etc...Would make better comparison

hrmm...the 12-24 is all packed up ready to be shipped back. Plus, I'd feel kind of guilty using it when I'm getting my money back you know? Besides, if I dropped it, I'd be stuck with it.

If i may ask why are you sending it back? I was considering that lens as well.

Best Regards

You wouldn't think that 2 little mm would make much of a difference but I think it does...now you've made my decision harder! Aaarrghh!! ;)

defect -- the focus distance indicator cover (or whatever it's called) came unglued and is popping up -- it was a day old...and plus, the extra 2mm (well, 3mm with crop -- 15 vs. 18) excited me a little.

I hope this is the only time you get excited by 3mm...

Yeah...well I once got excited about 10mm...

The 04 Rangers came with 245/75/16 tires...and my 05 got the 255/70/16 -- so they are 10mm wider. That made me happy.
