| Sara, me and mine are thinking of you and yours in your time of trouble. My wife and I both lost our fathers in the last few years and know what you are going through... |

I just want to say thanks to everyone. I also want to say something to my sis here. I think you're doing a great job with everything. The girls are turning out to be wonderfully behaved, even if they are litle devils, I think you have done Mom proud in the way you've raised them, and I know I am proud of you. Keep up the good work and I hope the surgery goes well.

Thanks, Mikey. That means a lot to hear you say that, and it means more that you've said it in public.
I'll keep you updated on the surgery. Still scheduled for Friday morning, so this weekend's not gonna be any fun. |

Don't sweat it...I had mine removed when my 2nd baby was only 28 days old. The worst part about it was dealing with the aftermath of the gas they inflate your abdomen with during the procedure. The staples are small, the incisions are TINY, and you won't have any more gall bladder attacks...ever. It's worth it I promise!
For you and for Mike (and your families)...hang in there and know you have our support and our thoughts. {{{hugs}}} |

Thank you all for your kind wishes! It helps soooo much...
Laurie - I'm actually looking forward to the surgery. I am so tired of "tummy troubles"! Been having them for 16 years now, and they've finally gotten to the point where I can't put it off any longer, so this will be a very good thing (even if it's uncomfortable for a while, it's bound to be better than 2 or 3 attacks a month!). I'm not so much worried about the surgery as I am that it might coincide with Mom's passing. Not much I can do about that, though, and the surgeon is concerned about a possible rupture (due to some infection and some large stones still lodged in it), so it's off to the hospital I go... and I'm very glad to be able to do so without it being "emergency" surgery. |

saracat...I had my gallbladder out about 13 yrs ago. I put it off for about 5 yrs...If I had known how good it would be I wouldn't have put it off.
I'm so sorry to hear of the saddness your family is facing. You and your brother sound strong. It's not easy, and won't be for awhile. But soon your tears will be replaced by memories.
My surgery coincided with my grandmothers last days. While I was recovering I sat with Gramma. I have cousins that couldn't 'bear to see her sick' and stayed away. They missed out on precious moments. It was one of the hardest times in my life and one of the best. I am comforted with knowing she knows I was there.
Be strong, your surgery will be fine. And recovery will be quick....
My prayers are with you and your family.
Peace.

Mom died this morning at about 4:30 am (Eastern US time).
Her passing was easy for her, and is proving to be more difficult for the rest of us.
Thank you all just for being there.

Sara,
My thoughts are with you. It's good to hear that she did not suffer at the end. It doesn't seem to make it any easier for the family, though... I went through this just about a month ago with my Mom, and I can say, it is getting better though :-)
Hang in there, and take strength in family and friends.

How long have I known you both on DPC and in DPC Fanatics, particularly Michael, and not realised that you are siblings? Love and condolences to both of you and I'm sure your mum appreciated being able to spend her last weeks surrounded by loving family and friends.

Edited: I missed the latest news of your mum's passing.
