I am bloody livid! Trouble with dogs again today...Picture this: Wonderful morning, low mist drifting on the landscape and a sunrise to die for but hey WATCH OUT FOR THAT FRESH STEAMING DOG CRAP AT YOUR NEXT STEP!!...and the dog and it's owner just 10 meters away.

I yells out "Oy! Do you want to come back and pick this up!"

"Nothing to do with me, mate!" comes the reply

"Well I don't see any other dogs around, and this is still f***ing steaming!" I shout, on the verge of bursting a blood vessel in my forehead.

"There are a lot of foxes around here...it wasn't my dog..."

Guys, it really gets me down; You can't go ANYWHERE nowdays to unwind without the chance of being attacked, constant barking drowning out the unwinding symphony of birdsong or stepping in something that you'll most likely know nothing about until you get back in the motor and unwittingly swipe into the carpet!

Hopefully my venting my frustration on the keyboard will prevent an impending migraine this afternoon (I'll have to dig out that punchbag from the shed!)

Thanks for listening. Have a great weekend.

Mark, it's all because you can't own a gun in the UK :)

Dogs like that would get shot around here.

And I'm Canadian. The owner would get shot too in Texas. What you should've done is pee on the dog and the owner. Man you've had bad luck in the past few weeks with dogs. Can't blame you for being furstrated.

jacko, have you been down here to texas? heh sounds like it... we usually don't shoot the owners though, usually... the best revenge though is like what Jim Carry did to his neighbor in the movie "Me Myself, and Irene"... for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of seeing it, what happened was that Jim's neighbor was allowing his dog to go over and pinch a loaf in Jim's yard. Well, when the day came where Jim had enough, he grabbed a newspaper, went over to his neighbors front yard, dropped his pants, and pinched off a big steaming loaf of his own! man was that funny!

All these ideas....I'm going to have to sit down and contemplate what to do next.

Thanks guys, you've given me a chuckle.

Get down low so you can take a photo through the "steamy scene" of the dog and owner. Give a holler so you make sure to get his face. Submit to your local newspaper and police department with a brief note that it seems as though local health laws are being flouted with impunity; the start of the slippery slope towards anarchy or possibly even re-election of a Tory government.

Paul, if all else fails at least I'll get a nice steamy scene picture out of it. Good tip, mate!

(Lets not get me started on politics!)

Mark, I've noticed steamy photos of all types do not score highly at DPC.
If you haven't taken up politics by this point I'm certainly not going to disrupt your blissful ignorance now...

That being said...you guys crack me up! Dogs like that end up dropped off here in my neighborhood cause I live out in the middle of nowhere-ville. Just running all over the place begging to be taken care of in November when it's deer hunting season. (we also live in the middle of DNR public hunting) October, dogs running all over the place. The november flood of hunters comes, and December...no dogs. Coincidence? I think not.

Oh I wish I was blissfully ignorant Paul. Just found out this poxy government has granted asylum to a member of the bloody Taliban! Probably give him a nice home and a new car....Anyway, enough of this. This is why I enjoy DPChallenge: escapism.

Hbunch...Wow, that's really sad and pretty incredible at the same time!

Well, I was visiting my wife's cousin in Scotland last year, and saw this guy and his dog do this on my cousin's front yard. Of course when I told my cousin, he complained that they couldn't do anything about it.
The next day, the guy with the dog comes over to my cousin's with a cop and complains because he saw ME dumping all this dogshit in his mailbox. I showed the cop a picture to the cop (digital of course, my old Kodak)of the guy and his dog taking a crap (the dog) on my cousin's lawn, and just shrugged my shoulders, and pled guilty. The cop couldn't come right out and laugh, but he was shaking his head back and forth and wagging his finger at me as he walked back to his car. Needless to say, I got "bigger shots" from my wife's cousin that night when we started drinking! Maybe you should try doing the same. The dog's owner may get the idea! ! !

Your problem may lie in your use of the mail box. In the US it is reserved for the exclusive use of the Postal Service, hence all the advertising hung from doorknobs or thrown into driveways.

If you merely deposit "it" on his doormat, you can tell the policeman:

"I'm so sorry, I was just trying to be a good citizen and return the property this gentleman dropped.

"I didn't want to ring the doorbell, since I feared he might be napping after his exhausting walk with his dog. I figured he'd find it here soon enough.

"Besides, since I'm sure it has great 'scentimental' but little intrinsic value, I wasn't too afraid of some petty thief making off with it."

Anyone is welcome to copy and print these guidelines on a reference card to be carried at all times, perhaps with your Miranda rights (US only) on the other side...

How about inconsiderate HUMANS!?

This is also not exactly suitable for young eyes... but I thought you might get a kick out of this. This is an actual memo I got (not directed at ME personally) while working at a radio station in Wheeling, West Virginia. This may have been the funniest thing I ever read. Only in WV could this memo be sent:

Read The Memo

(And PS, the memo is not from me, either... it's from Allen Pettit, the station's Program Director.)

This thread has me crying...

LOL

Sadly dog owners in the UK seem to think it's their god-given right to let their ratfaced little animals shit anywhere they please.

We're lucky in that we don't get TOO much in our road because a local nutter, ahem, resident, has set up a neighbourhood watch scheme and a half with high quality CCTV cameras covering the local area.

Anything illegal happens and he provides footage to the police.

But it P****S me off that dog owners really think it's OK to leave dog turds all over the pavement. I can't tell you how often I've thought about following them home and shitting on their doorsteps. The only reasons I haven't are because a) I am too lazy and b) I don't want to get my fat arse out in public.

But I'm with you on this rant!

I agree with you. I think not only is it irresponsible for the owners to allow it to stay, but also to let it happen at all. No dog with proper manners would poop on the pavement to begin with.

Can I withdraw the photo of my "ratfaced little animal" from the current challenge please?
02/08/2003 12:53:33 PM · #17
I always sent my dogs after photographers so that I am the only one who is going to get that unique shot. :)

I have to agree this is annoying. I wish that the cat owners would start following their fleabags around with a scooper too.

I am sure he's gorgeous!! I'm assuming you aren't one of those owners who let him poo anywhere he wants on his daily walks - if so then I'll assume he's not ratfaced but proud and handsome!!!!!!

my dog does his business in the bushes and hides it well other than that I try to make him go in the back yard before I take hime anywhere.

Ricky, wish more dog owners would follow your lead (no pun intended).
