When you buy a new camera you generally have an idea about that you'll need. Body, couple of lenses, bag, tripod etc.

However

What plugins are a class above the rest. I've heard of neatimage and noise ninja, these both sound very good. Are there a selection of other filters etc that might be useful for digital photography. I'm not overly interested with fancy borders etc but I'll look at most things.

I've already had a quick look at //www.thepluginsite.com

many thanks

Some plugins I find indispensible:

Not free:
NeatImage Pro (noise) $$$
(or noise ninja) $$$
FocusMagic (sharpening) $$
Fred Miranda SI Pro $$

Free:
Fotomatic BW-Plus
OptikVerve Labs' Virtual Photographer

Fred Miranda SI Pro = Stepwise interpolation - for interpolating up (enlarging) before sending to DPCPrints

Fotomatic BW-Plus - Converts to B&W

OptikVerve Labs' Virtual Photographer - Simulate various films, prints, slides, converts to B&W, sepia, old fashion style effects. This one does quite a lot of different things!

This Smart sharpener is also outstanding. Not cheap but offers a sharpening package that would take an age to create with Photoshop actions.

I don't use it for DP uploads as it tends to be a little 'subtle' (my first images were decribed as 'soft' by viewers)but it exceelent for large images and print work.
