This is my first digital camera, and I got it more for the name than anything else. I am new to digital camera world, ad now that I have this one and have joined dpchallenge, I wonder what this camera is missing or has that I don't know about. Anyone else have a Sony Mavica FD100? Are there books out solely on this camera and what it can do?

Mark, I had the FD-95 before I got my F707. This was a floppy disk camera... 2.1 megapixel, 10x optical / 20x digital zoom, image stabilization features... overall a very good camera.

My main beef with it was that it only shot in standard JPG mode. I was not offered a TIFF or FINE JPG mode. I believe sony's logic behind this was that the floppy disk could not store the file that would be created.

I bought the memory stick adapter and a 32mb stick so I could shoot a lot more photos without changing disks all the time. This device did not work so well for me. I kept gettin errors on the stick and had to remove and reinsert the adapter to clear it out. Sometimes it required reformatting the stick to clear it...
