I was just wondering if anyone has done any research or shooting to compare the different noise levels on the 20D. I would like to shoot @ 400ISO to have the fast shutter speed, but am nervous it will not blow up well at 11x14 or 16x20. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

I use ISO 400 a lot when handholding the 70-200 f/4; it's not a problem, unless you seriously underexpose, when the noise will creep up a little int he dark areas.

Go to DPReview for this...actually, with most of the popular cameras, this is the place to go for good technical information. Look on the left-hand side menu and click on the 'Reviews'.
Other good sources for this type of information, aside from here, of course, are Steve's Digicams and DCResource.

I have plenty of shots at ISO 400 on the 20D and they come out nice. a LOT better than ISO 400 on my old D60

Shoot some at ISO400. Resize it to the size you'll print it. Crop out an 8x10 area and print it. Look at it and decide if it is good enough for your purposes or standards. |
