Hmmmmm... given that maybe instead of:

"Fine art prints on paper and canvas"

You could have:
"Fine art prints on paper" or
"Fine art prints" or
"Fine art" or
"Fine" or
"F"

lol!

Will you be sending the postcard out as a direct mail peice? Or using it more as a calling card?

Hmmm, Taken around the world..... I think photos are taken regardless of who took them, so I see what you mean, but I'm not sure that line helps it out.

How about:

Pete & Kavita Favelle - What I did on my summer vacation.
See these pictures we have for sale and buy some.
They are from out trips.

That should sum it up. ... naw, I still like this one best:

May be to late, but have you considered using something like fine images? Fine art gives me the impression it will be pictures of artwork from around the world..

Just a thought.

Or fine images... but that sounds a bit odd.

Hmmm...

OK well I am redoing anyway because the psd template provided BY vistaprint on their own site is actually not the correct dimensions and therefore my upload was rejected.

OK...

I'm with the idea to add 's

So it's Pete & Kavita Favelle's
Fine art photography from around the world

(I think I'm gonna hope that people "get" that bit as I just like the sound of it better than "from around the world" though I do understand the concern as it's a touch ambiguous)

I'm going around in circles? :o)

I have taken some advice on board though:

Firstly to remove the "A series" bit which everyone quite rightly pointed out was superfluous.

Also I've removed Photography from the first line and moved it into the subtitle/ strapline bit which I agree makes more sense (thanks Di).

But I think I may go back to using "prints" after all...

Pete & Kavita Favelle's

or

or

maybe I should go pull my hair out and worry about this tomorrow night instead!!!! But I SO wanted to order it today. The offer is, I have just called to find out, on till end of week.

Aaaww, I was just funn'in with the situation Di. I'm sorry if it came out in a snotty way. I like to be helpful where I think I can, but at the same time I don't take many things to seriously.

I'm sorry if my humor wasn't taken as I indended it to be.
(This is why I don't post much in the forums, sarcasm doesn't seem to work well).

Thanks...
My only concern is that it doesn't convey that we're selling stuff people can hang on their wall - they might think we're just an online gallery or selling ourselves as events photographers but I think I shouldn't try to communicate too much with a basic marketing postcard!

OK Bed time, will be back to this Friday AM!
01/25/2006 06:18:15 PM · #38
yeah I think the addition of the 's' works well and makes it less ambiguous

I'd go with one of those last ones Kavey, - the 'photographic prints from around the world' gives more of an impression of selling them imo (rather than just a gallery showcasing), but the 'photography from around the world' makes more of a thing of the fact they're from distant lands I've never been to...does that make sense? dont know why it seems a different stress when they're so similar..

guess it depends on what impression you want to give
good luck with choosing, the longer it takes the more you'll be tearing your hair out :P

"Fine art that will make your walls beg for more!"

*sigh* It's been a really looong day.

hehe

Just to update:

Much appreciate all the help I received, not only on this thread but also in DPC Fanatics chat from Di and Hokie...

In the end I swapped the lines completely and went with:

Prints from around the world
Photography by Pete & Kavita Favelle

www.fsquaredimages.co.uk

The text for the first line is bigger than the text size for the other two (which are the same as each other) which balances the composition of the text, to my mind.

THANKS AGAIN!
