This was my original idea for Fantasy, I ended up with 2 different completed ideas on Friday and everyone I asked picked the other one. How would this one have done in your opinions? What would you have voted on it?

I think it would have done very well. I would have given it a 7 and I must admit I'm not a huge sucker for flowers. Hope your submission is doing well too. :)

if you saw what I wrote before I edited my comment, sorry -
and if you didn't see, so much the better (I said some dumb things) -

I'd have likely given this a 7. It is subtle, creative, and well processed. I think it would have held up nicely against the composition.

well, there you go. that's why some folks may give something like this a low score.

it is a fantasy flower, a mix between a lily and a rose.

Ok, well the picture I entered is doing ok so far, I am disappointed in it. Itâs at about 5.3ish right now. When I showed people this picture explained what the challenge was they said, âWhat a pretty flower.â That told me most people did not get the fact that this flower does not really exist, not on first sight at least. I wanted to use the same title that I have it listed under in my profile, I did not want to put any hints in the title. So I decided to go with something else, easier to get.

Thank you JPR for explaining, and I am a bit curious mycelium as to what you first commented⦠:-)

How I did itâ¦

Well, I went all around looking for lilies and roses around the same color, not very easy in the middle of winter in Missouri! But I found what I was looking for, then I gutted one of the lilies and cut the top off the rose. I trimmed as much off the rose I could with out it falling apart. I put the inner parts on the tulip inside the rose. I tried to use 2 sided tape to attach the rose to the inside of the gutted lily but that would not work. I taped the stem of the lily to a wooden spoon for support and it was a balancing act keeping the rose inside the lily.

You'd have been murdered by the Michael Jackson haters if you used that title :-) Way cool idea, though. Worth a 7 from me :-)
