My 20D showed up this afternoon. I tell ya, the dang thing weighs more than my Rebel, has a noisier shutter, and clicks off pics too fast....I dunno, if I'll end up using this thing much. lol- just kidding
I love it - feels like a real camera in my hand!
here's just a couple quick shots I took with it:

Seems like its a day for new cameras :) Congrats on the purchase and yes, the first shot I took with the 20D I almost jumped out of my skin with the noise (the 300D is much softer). Oh, and I don't like the on/off switch either, other than that is a stonking cam!

A little jealousy here too! I'm hoping my budget goes up and the price comes down soon...and meet someplace in the middle so I can post a thread like this one :)
Congratulations and have lots of fun! (and stay off of the ice with it, 'k?) |

It's easy...you just make a phone call, tell the nice man what you want, read off a series of numbers to him, and wait by the mail box. Same with L class lenses!
The problems arise when the people who own the card on which that series of numbers reside send you a nice letter in the mail, saying "PAY UP!"

Nice thought but it takes than just a good camera. There are too many really talented photogs here to be worried sbout that out of me.

I agree, it all seems so simple until you get 'the letter' I get lots of them :(

I also got my Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT with Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 and Canon EF 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS. I am very much excited too. I got extra battery, bagpack and bogen tripod. Can some one help me with the filter selection? Is anything "MUST" missing in my hardware gear? |

not a problem - I'm taking the camera and new tripod in to the insurance company 1st thing in the morning to add them to my policy. Then I'm heading out to a waterfall or two :-)
phatphoto - I bought it used from a member at FredMiranda.com. He had owned it since last April and taken 5027 clicks with it. Sold it to me for $870...about what I paid for my Rebel when I got it.

rofl - at this point I'm going to keep it. It's still a nice little camera. The plan is to keep the 70-200 on the 20D, and the 28-105 on the Rebel. IF, I find that I am switching out the lenses to use the 20D all the time due to preference, I may then sell the Rebel and the Sigma 28-105 so I can buy a different lens I am wanting.

I'd suggest keeping it and, as you say, a lens on each body. It worked well for me on my trip to Scotland (I'm lazy as well).
Oh, my 300D is going up for sale soon ;)

I wouldn't call it lazy, your glass is often more expensive than the body, so having the right lens handy at the right time is ofter more important than the right body at hand. |

It's definitely something I'd LOVE to jump at but in all seriousness, I'd have to OK it with the boss first and I'm not quite ready yet. Money wise and I'm sure I can manage to wait a couple more months. I think. Possibly. AHHHHHHHHHHH!
No really. I'd love to, but it's just not possible yet.
{Sigh}
