I've been a HUGE fan of Dave Barry (a nationally syndicated humor columnist, and inspiration for former TV show "Dave's World") for literally decades.
I got an e-mail a few months ago from Crown Publishing, asking for permission to use one of my Groundhog Day photos in a new book of his. Considering what a fan I am of his (I have EVERY one of his books) I thought someone was pulling a prank on me... but it turned out to be the real deal!
If you happen to see a copy of "Dave Barry's Money Secrets," I have a shot, which appears twice on page 17... and I have photo credit in the back of the book. The book just came out yesterday, and I found it at a local Borders.

wOOt! Congratulations!
I've seen his column occasionally, and I've always gotten a kick out of what I've read.
I shall keep my eye out for the book next time I'm at a bookstore

Hey, he was on NPR just today, plugging that book. You can go there and listen to the audio -- today's second hour of Talk of the Nation.
Congratulations!
He highly recommends real estate, with only two caveats:
1. Don't buy an old house
2. Don't buy a new house |

Yes, I think he's very funny when taken in moderate quantities. ;)

Hey, congratulations! Can't wait to see it.
I am a huge Dave Berry fan. My favorite column is where he is talking about companies changing thier names. For example, Cingular. He conclude that if you get a bill from "Accenture" you should pay it. It is the company formerly known as the "Mafia." And they have "very serious" collection processes! LOL
While not entirely true, it's a great column.
And I used to work for them ... so trust me on this, ..., pay your bills! |

| If you ever have a chance to see him in person -- do it! He put on a show at a theater near us a couple years ago, and my wife and I went. My wife isn't a fan of his, and only went because I dragged her along, but I don't think she laughed that hard when we went to see George Carlin! He was absolutely hilarious. I wouldn't think of him as a stand-up comedian, but he could definitely make a good living doing that! |

Agree completely. He does stand up much better than a lot that make a living at it. |
