yep. i only brought 6 gigs and i shoot RAW so I ended up picking up a portable drive :)

i took a bunch today, like 40orso... had the rangers following me around the whole time, hadda get outta there - makes me crazy when the do that... like what the L do they think i'm doing? it's not like i's throwing trash out the windows or setting forest fires in the snow or feeding the bears that we don't have!! leaf me alone!! stupid rangers!

RAW is hard to explain in short but put it this way: you have more flexibility in terms of in-camera manipulations when using RAW.

dSLR means digital Single Lens Reflex. Difference? Shutter lag compared to P&S at least for one. :)

DSLR - Digital Single Lens Reflex -means that it has a mirror in front of the sensor that deflects the light so you actually see light coming through the lens.

RAW - basically, the raw camera data file from your camera (if you have the option) withough .jpg or .tiff conversion.
