Only 43 entries with one day left to enter... that seems really low! I guess people weren't brave enough to get over their fear of candids?

I kind of wish this one had been during the summer months (I know it is for some people)... I would have felt better about going out to a park instead of thinking of someplace indoors where I would get in trouble for taking pictures.

I have one shot that I only half like... but maybe if I enter it I can place in the top 40! :P

maybe it's because people are having a hard time figuring it out...

like, what if two people are in focus?
or just how many people do you need to have a group? 3? 4? 5? more?
or what if the crowd is so blurred you can't tell it's a crowd?
or what if my picture just looks like a lot of people?
or what if there are only 3 people within 100 miles of me and i'm one of them?
or, or, or

;-)

It kinda' has become pretty silly huh?
I did try and clarify it better here, but guess it is a bit too late...

Everyone can blame me - it's all my fault. I'm gonna' go eat worms now.

i know for me, i couldnt find a "croud" to make someone stand out of ... I work in retail so i work weekends, and public places in the suburbs this time if year are dead... and my brain want thinking beyond that until tonight when i though of going to the train station... unfortunatly the heavy rain thwarted my plan. so im sitting this one out

Shhhhh! Don't tell everyone! We don't want any more entries, I'm going for a top 50 finish in this one.

Nah - no time, no real desire to enter any challenges for a while really, except for Best of 05.

I had a few practice shots at school, but it was impossible getting just one person in focus with all these kids moving around and so on. Anyway, the next day there was a big full-page ad in the newspaper about people finding pictures of themselves or their children in publications and on the internet - pictures used without their knowledge or permission. It was in Japanese, but that was the gist of it, and they will be having a seminar to address this problem. So know I'm a bit wary of posting pictures of people... :-(

Well you had no problem taking a picture of this.

I'm in this beast...who know's how I will do. My image meets the criteria...so, maybe I'll do decent.

I'm in, too. Photo nails the challenge theme but only you, kind voters, can turn it into a ribbon. My fate is in your hands. Be gentle, please.

Oh, should I delete it from the Portfolio? Nah, that was before the advert...

Oddly enough, I started a thread on a few of my non-challenge candids, yet got a lot of views and no response here. I am surprised. LOL...Thought the first part was rather comical.

Nontheless, my entry is in, and I am extremely happy with it. I too was shocked at the low entries, so I guess many had more trouble with this one then I thought. I thought I would have trouble as well. I was hoping a photo excursion today would bring new life to a contest I thought I would have to bow out of, but yesterday I got pretty darn lucky, and as usual, it comes when you try the least.

hmmmm decisions, can't make my mind up whether to enter an image that I think is not bad or go for the one I picured all along and pretty much shot... The one I have had in my head is artistic and will either do quite well or come last ( might just be me presuming but I reckon the overall shot is lacking in focus where it needs to be ).

Ok I'm pretty much talking myself into this seeing as I invisiged the shot and alomst pulled of what I was picturing I think I should go with, hey I've come last once before and there's no point entering a shot that will just come middle of the pile as usual hey? Might as well just go the whole hog and see if my interpretation is interesting enough to get somewhere but just cant help know the amount of comments stating one obvious thing which I have inteded anyhow...

Ah well here goes... Good luck to the rest of you folks on this one and yeah voting will be great as not so many entries, not only that but like the food challenge theres been so many more votes due to being something different. I know that this has pushed me to do something different and push my boundaries on feeling uncomfortable and this is good to step outside from your 'comfort zone' and try things out.

I fully expect to get hammered by the DNMC fascists on this one. I admit there's no real DOF in my pic and my crowd is more implied than obvious. I was a victim of cruel timing on this one. This time of year, there are lots of crowds at work; but while the crowds are around, I'm stuck in the office unable to get any pictures.

On Friday, there was a huge crowd with nobody moving and I had no work. Perfect! But while I was taking pictures early in the day, my camera battery died. sigh. So no literal crowd shots for me. At least I got my "Signs" entry out of it.

It figures the challenge where the description is so very specific is one challenge I can't actually get those specifics in my shot. Maybe lots of other people had the same problem and that's why there are relatively few entries for this one.

#74 I'm in. Shot mine yesterday. Was fun to get out and shoot strangers for a change, I usually avoid them! lol

{snip the rest}

Larry, Larry, Larry ... I fail to see what DNMC has to do with Fascism ... literally the authoritarian political movement in Italy between 1922 and 1943 ... more generally similar political movements including Nazism. If someone indicates DNMC on a photo they are commenting on, it hardly makes them a Fascist or a Nazi. It's just their opinion. Doesn't mean they eat little children for breakfast without salt.

A little help please... I'm trying to select my singled out entry and I have a great. I like everything about the shot, but I wonder if voters will determine (in their opinion) that the subject is not a candid candidate. The subject is not performing for my photography and is not looking in my direction. Please tell me what you think.

Thanks
