I have been looking through the images I've taken this year that still have raw files and have come to the conclusion that my work photographic work last year was pitiful. The Best of 2004 was different because I only had a few images with raw files on hand to choose from, but I have over a thousand raw files from 2005 still on the computer and i still can't find anything I like.

I know what you mean, I've spent a few hours scrolling up and down through Picasa, and I just can't find anything worthwhile. I'm thinking it'd be better to skip it rather than enter something last minute just for the sake of it. |

That's why I star my favs as I go through. If it wasn't a star it generally didn't get looked over again. I did do a once over to be sure, but only found a few, and didn't use them.
I did have a really hard time, I had to re-edit the photo to take into account everything I've learned since I joined DPC though. Feeling hopeful, but just for a good score, I probably don't have a chance for top 10 even, so I'm hoping for personal best.
Hope ya'll find yours, maybe you can find something with good composition and tweak it a little?

These were all taken with the 300D I had, that was why they were in a different folder. Now I remember why I sold that camera. Oh well.

My photos from 2004 are a lot more striking than my 2005 photos on the whole. I think that's because I concentrated on reportage and developing a style in 2005 whereas in 2004 I just took shots I thought other people would like.

I feel like this should be called Second Best of 2005 since I put my best stuff in the challenges.

The positive aspect of this is I just cleared over 9 gigs of space on my HD by deleting unwanted raw files.

And i just checked the file info of one of the bird pictures i was about to enter and it seems that everything I shot with my 1d Mk Ii before I sold it says 2006. Nix that.

That's what I did too I think. Of all the shots I took in 2005, I could only find two that I thought were by far my best. Submitted one of them. I have no idea how it will score. |

Compared to the way the raw images in the other folders look taken with the 1Ds Mk II and the 1D Mk II the 300D images look pitiful. Need a break? Get a Kit-Kat.

I let my fiancee choose this time, I chose the one for last year it was this shot of her...
I have over 200 shots left from 2005 so I could not decide so I asked her to choose, she couldnt choose from 5 she liked so i threw a dice.

Honestly? I would too. I liked while I had it. (until the 1D Mk II came)

I'm not entering. My work was much too diverse to choose a 'best' from them all -- and even then, I'm afraid since I'm not from Iceland that I wouldn't place in the top 10 anyway ;)

I was thinking about entering one of the images that I took with the 350D, but I uploaded all the good ones anyway.. so I picked one that was with my G5 before I sold it, and not many people (no one here) had seen it

(Cool guitar. Who made it)
It WAS a Tokai flame maple elctro acoustic, they made only 5000 guitars in 3 colours it was truely a fantastic guitar, the action was better than my Gibson, I say WAS because it was stolen from my house along with several other guitars including my Martin dreadnaught and a classic Epiphone emporor (starts crying) ..... I have just re-started my guitar collection by getting a 1974 Fender Tele and a Gibson LP standard (tobacco) and just recently added a Gretsch accoustic to the list..
Do you play?

Super bummer ... I had a guitar stolen once -- it feels more like a kidnapping than a burglary. |
