4 women
If this is possible in the 1st and 2nd century, then what is possible 4000 years earlier, or a couple of millennia? Could we actually be from a single source as written?
It's possible.

Well the Lord did say to go forth and expand...guess they took it to heart.

I have heard of "The Seven Daughters of Eve" before which states that ALL people came from 7 women. Do a google search on them and you will find many sites and books on them including one that will test your DNA and tell you which daughter you decend from. |

If there was a single source, then we're all fruits of incest. |

Well since in America you can legally marry your second cousin, incest is a relative term. |

Does anyone on any side of any particular creation myth/ theory think not ?
I kinda assumed this was a basic starting point for most every origin tale/theory in the world. |

I suppose that under the theory of evolution the matter is a little less clear cut: the ancestral origins mean that life probably started from a first single reproducing cell around 4 billion years ago. However, the distinction between species is a story of gradual development that would make it hard to identify a single modern human "Eve" at any one time.
It is interesting to note that some genetic strains have been significantly successful so as to result in this analysis being possible.
I would note that the Seven Daughters of Eve book does not purport to explain the maternal history of all people, but (from a quick google search) only European people. It is written by a geneticist and is fully housed within the evolutionary model (and the earliest of the "daughters" is theorised to have been alive 45,000 years ago).
