"Secrets"

Whisper to me your secrets
of how I look so fine
whisper sweet nothings
and that you'll always be mine.
Soon, spring will be here
then we can run and play
but for now stay here my dear
and tell me all you have to say.

Thanks Jeff - another outstanding piece of work. You really do need to publish all these in a nice book. You can put me down for an autographed copy.

I wrote this for my Father-in-law, this is his truck.

"This Old Ford"

Behind the wheel of this old ford
I sit and cruise down memory lane
back then I worked on Grandpa's farm
hauling everything from cows to grain.

This old truck hauled the heavy loads
from summer everday 'til spring
we went flying down the country roads
laughing as the mud would sling.

Then we'd pull off into an open field
where Grandpa would let me drive
oh the power and the speed I could yield
but I never went over twenty-five.

There was that night of my first date
when Grandpa threw me the keys
a nervous wreck I could hardly wait
he just smiled and put me at ease.

I remember when I became a man
it was my high school graduation day
Grandpa said "Son she's all yours to have."
all I could do was wipe the tears away.

I loved this old ford with all I had
for all the special times it gave
simple moments with my mother's dad
I will forever cherish and save.

I am a little rusty, but I think Rikki is saying "Yo, Jeff! Go get me some Japanese Saki and a couple burritos!"
