What̢۪s the longest you think you could go with out showering? 4 of my friends are trying to see who can go the longest, we are on week 3 now and i can barely get near them. i wish i could make them stop.

| Discretely tell each of them individually to take a bath. Technically it wouldn't be cheating. |

You beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing. Or hope for rain, don't forget the soap. |

| The biggest fear I would have is that they might find that some parts of their bodies start to fall victim to fungus, and that is when the fun really begins. Athlete's foot is a mild discomfort in comparison to some of the other forms of fungi that they might have to endure. |

during hostel days in college, i once went more than a month. But now, all the fun is gone. Got to shower regularly, otherwise my wife would kill me.

| My friends and I went car camping once over a weekend. It was 3 days and I made it clear that I would be the first in the shower or I would trample them to get in first. :D |

Reminds me of a M*A*S*H episode. Pierce (sp?) and his cohort (forget which one it was at the time -- I think BJ) were trying to get Winchester to stop playing his horn by not showering.
It ended with the entire camp ganging up on them and first flattening the horn with a jeep and then spraying the odorous two with a fire hose.
Just food for thought -- start carrying a water pistal filled with a deoderant or lysol or Fabreze or something and spray them with it whenever they come near.

| Assuming they're guys, just ask them if "crotch rot" has set in. Then make up as story about fungus... |

Gross is an understatement.
I have to shower every day at least once. |

| When I used to do field work for my old job (bird surveys in the woods), we would forgo showering for up to 4 or 5 days. The flies don't like you as much when you don't smell like a shampoo bottle. But after 4 or 5 days of tramping through the hot and humid forest, we had no choice than to take a shower. We would also shower before going into town to purchase supplies. |

This guy pretty much had a subway car to himself during Rush Hour. I'd say he hadn't touched water in at least 2 months. |

| Depends on how hot it is outside. If you're talking not cleaning at all...even at a sink, then not more than a day. If I can get to clean clothes and at least a quick clean up at the sink and a bit of privacy, I'm good for a few days for camping or the like. |

Ah, field work. I've shampooed my hair in a puddle before. I forget how long we went without showers, pretty long, but we were mobile & would map all day & just stop & set up a tent when it got dark. Right about the flies. We couldn't really distinguish between fly-dope and body odour.

I don't think I've ever gone more than three days without a bath/shower (camping was three days of torture). My boys would probably go a week or more without one if I let them (must be a guy thing) but that's not going to happen. ;)
My grandmother was raising her kids during the depression and the dust bowl, and they had a cistern water system at their farmhouse. With no rain, water was quite scarce and they would have to clean up as best they could with a washrag and a bucket or sink of water. I still can hear her telling me that they "would wash up as far as possible, then wash down as far as possible, then wash possible." :) |

this is a gross subject....what is the Prize for the competition??
My boyfriend was in Desert Storm.....he tells me that 'after 3 days you can't smell yourself'.....ugh...
So we have a joke that when we encounter a odiferous person, he'll say to me....'must be day 4' :-D

in Iraq we would go a week to week and a half without a shower, and a shower was considered a bottle of water left in the sun all day and a hole poked in the lid,
thats a shower,
