YEAH!!!! Because I was seriously thinking that they DQ'd DrJOnes because they didn't want to give the ribbon to a Nikon owner...what a joke. |
Ah, it all makes sense now. A council that includes 5 Nikon D70 owners DQ'd a photo purely for the sake of preventing a Nikon ribbon. Whoopsie... looks like Grigrigirl slipped past our watchful eyes and took the yellow anyway. |

I know I'm combative, and yes I do emphasize the drama, but I certainly do not cry. As far as being unpleasant, that's your opinion...
My name is David or Dave...hence the signature that I have. You can't possibly know much about me if you do not even know my name.

Why did my post, quoting someone elses post get edited out? I have posted things on MANY occasions and had it quoted, deleted it, and it has stuck...THAT IS EXACTLY THE THING THAT NEEDS STOPPED THE MOST
EITHER MAKE IT UNIVERSAL, AND DO IT FOR EVERY SINGLE POST LIKE THAT OR DONT DO IT AT ALL

I think there should be a seperate SPAM forum just so people can type up their SPAM.
I think elections for site council members should be held once a year when their term is up...and they should be voted on, and nominated by, ALL paying members. |
I really have to dissagree with that one. Now who's disgriminating? I hate to put you in your place, but check out the Membership for a Deserving registered user forum. And there are lots of us on the site who give constructive comments, don't put certain people out and take the site personaly. And I'm personaly happy with the site the way it is... What... did you get disqualified or something? lol

photo #1 was created using a traditional panning technique, so the car appears still while the background was moving.
photo #2 was created by shooting a car at rest and adding a motion blur to the background of the photo, thus SIMULATING the motion.
if the goal of this site is to promote photographic skills, and the use of post-processing is to enhance rather than manipulate, why is photo #2 deemed to be as valid as photo #1?

Even the site council members don't know why things are allowed and aren't allowed.
NOTE: I quoted from another thread, as was done to me on page one. It is CLEARLY allowed as a SITE COUNCIL MEMBER did it on page one.
--
My take is there should be a clear rule. Technically, photo # 2 used post-processing to MAKE THEIR ENTRY fit the challenge description of "speed" -- like if it's not raining and you create the rain...same thing...

For the record, I love DPC, and I happen to think that the SC is doing a hell of a job. These guys & gals give a lot of their time and keep things running smoothly - certainly better than other sites I've seen, and better than many businesses and organizations I come in contact with.
So I say, "Support Your Local SC!" Here's lookin' at you... **lifts glass to the SC**

Michael Jackson was big on MTV in 1984. Don't think he was in the Real World though.
Hmm, coming soon to MTV, Real World Neverland... |
