I agree, but it should be at least 26. Anyone 25 or under is far too impulsive and hot headed for such responsibility. They'd probably start random threads pandering to their own personal biases and other nonsense.

Doubtfully so. This post is for the community. If you don't think so, then you're entitled to your opinion, but I can say truthfully that the intent of this thread is NOT to empower myself, but to open the eyes of the community and to give back.

I am sick of seeing so many people getting shafted because of interpretation. It's time to stop complaining and get something done!

Who said it had anything to do with you being on SC ?
I'm sick of people interpreting my posts incorrectly.

You're entitled to your opinion. Your track record doesn't give that opinion much weight, but you're entitled to it nonetheless. Enjoy it. As far as outrage, well, that's what you're all about is it not? No surprise there either.
BTW, I'd personally be more than glad to stand for reelection. If The ADMINS FEEL that election of SC is a good path to follow, I suppose it could come to pass. It is, however, THEIR decision, not yours or mine. I, at least, know where I stand.

I think we need more members on the site council who are FOR the community and not for THEMSELVES.

O really, for ourselves are we? Is that why we each spend tens hours per week laboring **for free** in support of keeping DPC the fair, family-friendly, community-oriented place that it is? Just exactly what is it we are getting out of it, besides the satisfaction that comes from accomplishing the above goals?

I think there need to be CLEAR AND DEFINED rules and regulations, much clearer and not open for interpretation than the current rulset, for all aspects of this site including, but not limited to disqualifications, what can and cannot be cloned out, and what content is suitable and what content is not for the forums.

Without a doubt the rules need to keep evolving. We're certainly aware that they are not perfect. Thanks for pointing this out. Again.

I'm tired of seeing people get robbed of ribbons or people not allowed to post their feelings because some members of the site council disagreed with their methods or their posts...especially when it IS ALLOWED for some members, and NOT ALLOWED for others.

Sorry you feel that way. I don't see all the folks who have supposedly been "robbed" of ribbons joining your one-man lynch mob. I also don't see more than a very few of the "usual characters" complaining about the job the SC is doing in moderating the forums. If you think it's such an easy job to be 100.00% equitable, try it for a while... wait, belay that, I can't imagine an incendiary personality like yourself trying to do anything close to "moderation."

O jeez, look at that, I guess I'm being a prick again. Sorry. Again.

And I'm sick of interpreting people's posts incorrectly. You can either live with it, or do something about it (ie. write your posts more clearly, and leave less to interpretation next time). The choice is yours.

Nothing -- feel free to set up a democratically-operated photography site. It should cost you less than $500/year to carry out such a sociological experiment. Be sure to report back to us on the result.

In the meantime, that's not how this site is run. Do you think Wal-Mart would make its owners billions of dollars per year if the workers got to vote on their own salaries and work rules, or if the customers got to vote on setting the prices?

This site is a business, not a true membership organization. You are a customer/participant, not a shareholder or part-owner or employee.

I think the only people who should be on the SC are the ones with enough character to have quit in the first place.

Don't make it sound like drew or langdon are forking out their hard-earned money to keep this community afloat. I'm sure they are making a substantial part of their income from both here at DPC as well as from the profits of DPC Prints.

What happened to "the customer is always right..." ? Guess it doesn't apply here.

shush - this isn't supposed to be talked about. They get free massages every day and all the latte's that the want.

Every SC member gets an automatic +1 on their picture scores.
Drew personally washes their cars.
At GTGs every SC member gets their dinner paid for, in return for not arbitarily DQing your picture.
They change the rules on a whim, just to cause as much distress as possible.
All SCs get extra editing rules that they can use to take advantage of the system.
Usually they enter 2 pictures in any given challenge, just to improve their odds. The lowest scoring image gets taken out just before the votes are announced. They claim they were 'DQed' and entered by some first time member who never comes back again.
Most of the SC are actually aliens.
The rest are robots, controlled by Langdon.
Konador is a small cockerspaniel with a brain-keyboard implant.

I was one, I know all about it. I'm going to publish my shocking expose in the next few weeks. It's all true.

LOL- Drew and Langdon were both about 21 when they create DPC. Age has little to do with maturity.
