I bought Photoshop CS1 1 year ago and been relucatant to upgrade. But is it really worth it or is it just as well to wait until next upgrade?

I did the same thing.

Played w/ a buddies CS2. Bought it the next day.

A few more tools, some more whisles, a few more bells.

I liked especially the RAW interaction that CS1 did not have.

Now I have both.

It has a couple of features that are worth having but beware that the color handling interface has changed slightly as well as the naming and selection of parameters.

Thanks!

I bought it just now online and it's installing as I type this :) After all, an upgrade isn't that expensive.

Can't wait to fire it up!

I believe CS2 is a worthwhile upgrade, especially for the 'exposure' correction tool that includes gamma adjustment. However, CS2 startup is painfully slow on my 3.00 gHz Pentium. I've checked all the obvious... memory, priority, etc. and it is still slow to start. No such problems on Macintosh systems!

If you shoot RAW, CS2 is worth it just for Bridge.

What he said, though the Browser in CS is really just an earlier version of Bridge without the name change and a lot of the functionality is the same... it HAS been improved, no question.
