Good Day All
I took this photo recently - What are your comments? What can I do to make it look better? Give it a shot. Would like to see what everybody come up with.

I think the rule for shooting portraits in full sun is "Find shade, Make shade, or Don't shoot". The picture is cute but the blown highlights can't be recovered. |

I like the "Find shade, Make shade, or don't shoot" rule. I will definately keep that in mind. Remember - this was not a posed photo. Little girls that age are not very keen on posing. Little bugger had the cutest smile and "I can never be naughty" look on her face. Just as I picked up the camera and pressed the button - she decided - NO - lets turn the head. I was hoping that maybe, somehow something can be saved.
By the way - WHAT IS "BLOWN HIGHLIGHTS". I am a novice. Don't know the terms yet.

Not at that resolution. Possibly from the color original, depends on the histogram.

Basicly it is large areas that are white that should have some details. example is on the child, the top most of her hair is all but void of hair. |
