Critique Club 2006 Personal Goal

I finally thought of a photography related goal for 2006. What I hope to do is make at least one CC Comment every single day. I know in the long run, that's really only 365 comments, and in one year, that doesn't seem like very many, but that's almost more than anyone else has ever given in a lifetime, so I don't think it's too shabby of a goal.
Before you guys lay into me, I know I 'missed' Jan 1st, but I'm still awake, so it's still sort of the 1st for me. lol
Anyway, Starting today (and I'll do a couple today to make up for the 'missed' January first) I will attempt to make at least 1 CC every single day for a year.
Note that only 3 people have made over 300 critiques, lifetime total. So here I go! Wish me luck. I might need it.

I'm in. I'm in the middle of computer trouble and decided to build a new one but its not gonna be ready that soon so I'll have some catching up to do. Great idea tho.

Sweet...that's 1095 critiques 'guaranteed' this year. I got 5 in today. I figured that makes up for missing the first day of the year, and gets me off to a good start. I'm excited about this.

The last 2 I started to do I had my computer crash during the critique and by the time I got everything back up and running it was nolonger in my que. This has happened twice which has prompted me to build a new one. On a more positive note I have entered 2 challenges his time around.

Well, HBunch, they won't be one-a-day, but I'll match that total.

Do you suppose it would be possible to have a statistic on how many Critiques total were given in each month. (Not individual numbers, total numbers)

That might give Critique Club members something to shoot for.

Congrats on reaching that 100 cc mark. Only 17 CC members have given over 100 CC's. Only 5 have given over 200 critiques. 2 have given over 300 Critiques, and only 1 user has given over 400 CC's. (438 to be exact)
So that's quite an accomplishment. Thanks for your contributions to the CC.

I've been true to my goal so far (day 2 lol), and I'm really glad I did this because I have drawn 2 photos now that received ZERO comments during voting.

You have drawn 83 photos for critique, and have commented on 51 of them. Less than 50 people have made that type of commitment, so I'd say that's not embarrasing at all. Thanks for your contributions. :)

I didn't join the CC till mid Sept. but I only did (I think) eleven critiques. I'm going to join in with ya and set a goal of one a day. I better get started today, I'm two behind.

If you draw it 2 minutes before midnight on challenge change over, and post the critique 2 minutes after challenge changeover, it doesn't count, cause the system tosses all those photos out, so when you go to post yours, it's not in the queue any more. I know that happened on a few of my 'drawn but not critiqued' photos. Others, I simply got stuck on and went to come back, only to find changeover happened and it got tossed. I still critique them though, it just doesn't count toward my CC number.
Anyway, if you get stuck on a photo, and simply cannot critique it...para el amor del dios...email me and I can reassign you a new one so you can move on.

Damn, that happened to me last night then with 270598 (I keep a spreadsheet record:). I forgot completely about the rollover, which happens at 6pm Monday nights here so I was having dinner with the critique half done.

I checked that the comments had been processed with the image and they had so that is the most important thing, the photog still got the critique even if we don't get the kudos.

Edit: I just looked up my Comments listing from my Profile page and my critique on 270598 is not there, nor are any comments that i have done today. Have I missed something?

so far I have done 3 crits each day...hoping I can keep up that pace as a minimum. I'm going to do todays right now as my new lens will be here in a few hours than I'll be busy shooting :-)

365 is not likely acheivable for me. 10 a month...120. i can do that.

I know my total done is low, as i'm kinda new - but if you have a spare moment can ye give me a total? It'd help me know if my pace so far.

I would love to see CC stats as part of the "request image" page. Not just for pride, but for reference. I also would LIKE (while we're making coding requests :)) for CC critiques to be separately listed from the "comments" on my profile page, and for them to appear separately from comments when my "recently made comments" are called up.

Just thoughts. Referencing CC stuff is aggravating when having to page through 100 or more comments to get to the "next one".

Heather: Sounds like a great Personal Goal for 2006! I would love to commit to 365 as well, but don't think I can make that. However, I will shoot for 150 for the year and have added it to my 2006 goals in my Profile. :-)

BTW You did a wonderful job on mine. I agree with everything you said. And the light that you mentioned, I even tried 40 more shots to get one without the light, but with my son moving and me moving, I never could get the focus exactly where I wanted it.

Edit to add, that I did 5 yesterday and have one done already today. SO far I am ahead of schedule, and am also keeping up with me PAD :-)
