My wife and I are visiting my parents in canada (we are currently living in norway) and we wanted to make the lemon key lime pie recipe that is in the jamie oliver - the naked chef book. We have the book at home and have made it a few times and have loved it,but we forgot to take the recipe with us to canada......

I can't think of anyone i know to call who has the book.. :(

Does anyone feel like private messaging me the recipe? My dad loves old fashioned homemade lemon pie and i am wanting to make it for him :)

Thanks.

I don't have the book, and that particular recipe's not online, but food network has another one that's excellent: key lime pie. They actually have several posted, but this one I have tried.

This probably isn't the one you want but it sounds good :)

Lemon Key Lime Pie

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1 9 Inch Graham Cracker Pie Shell
1 1/2 Teaspoons Lime Rind -- grated
1/2 Cup Fresh Lime Juice -- from about 3 limes
1/4 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice -- from about 1 lemon
28 Ounces Sweetened Condensed Milk -- 2 (14oz) cans
1/4 Teaspoon Green Food Coloring
Sweetened Whipped Cream -- for garnish
**Graham Cracker Pie Shell:
1 1/4 Cups Graham Crackers -- finely crushed
2 Tablespoons Margarine -- melted
2 Teaspoons Sugar

Prepare pie shell and set aside.

To make filling, wash limes well. Using a hand-held grater, grate rind
of limes using the small holes of the grater. Extract juice from limes
and lemon. Combine rind, lime and lemon juice, sweetened condensed milk
and food coloring together gently with spoon; avoid over mixing. Pour
into prepared pie shell and bake 5 minutes at 350 degrees. Refrigerate
at least 2 hours prior to slicing. Top with whipped cream.

GRAHAM CRACKER PIE SHELL:
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Place in 9-inch pie pan and pat
down evenly to form shell. Bake at 350 degrees 5 minutes.

CHEF'E NOTES:
Using freshly squeezed juices is the "key" here, and the combination of
lime juice with the lemon juice is very close to the actual taste of key
limes. (Real key limes are hard to come by and expensive, as well.) Use
a hand grater, or, if you have one, a zester, to remove the lime peel.
Just avoid the white pith underneath, as its taste is quite bitter.

Sorry. I completely missed the lemon part... But anyway, adding lemon to regular lime juice is a way to simulate the taste of key limes, which are not as sweet as regular limes.

If you can wait until Sunday, I've got all his books, but I'm out of town until Saturday night.

If you can wait that long, let me know!

Hi..I am a Pastry Chef, let me offer a couple of points of advise....
If you can not find the recipe, use any recipe for Key Lime and substitute lemon juice for 1/3 of the total amount of lime juice. It won't be Jamies, it will be better, It will be Yours!! (include zest of both fruits)
Also, interesting to note, and a little nagging thing of mine...
You can not make Key Lime anything without KEY LIMES!! What we get in the shops are actually Persian limes and different then Key Limes.
You can make a good Lime tart, no doubt, I have one on one of my menus right now...but it ain't Key Lime :))
Pm me with any questions at all!!

Sorry I can't help you

Doing a google search will bring up a fair amount of recipes. Also try epicurious. They usually have some good recipes

Good luck!
