I'm just curious to see how many other folks participate in every challenge and vote for every image. I'm not really trying to toot my own horn, but I have entered every challenge and I've voted for every single image since I joined the site in August.
I get the feeling from reading forums and watching the site that this is reasonably rare -- it seems like most people take off a week here & there, and don't necessarily vote for all of the shots.
How many others have participated in every challenge since joining, and always vote on all of the shots? |

I've been pretty active. I only participate when time, and my creative juices, permit though. My participation has picked during winter because the golf course is burried under 3 feet of snow. :(
I vote on all the images in the challenges I enter. I leave comments approx. 25 % of the time, which is a good average.

I vote on both every week (except for 2 when I was on holiday) and missed 3 challenges when I was on holiday.
Since then I've only skipped Blue and Four, and that was simply due to time.

I have voted on every photo since 2 weeks before I started entering and have recently skipped my first challenge :-/
(Excluding the first members challenge, when I wasn't a member and couldn't enter or vote)

I was thinking about this the other day.. What happens if I only vote on 90% say? I think I'm quite a generous voter, so if I vote higher than the 'usual' voting pattern, the 10% I don't vote on will be slightly down. (?)
So, to make my point, I always vote on 100% where possible. :-) |

I have entered every challenge since "curves" except for one I think (maybe two, because I think the week I skipped was the first week fo two challenges or something like that). I have voted on every image since that time also, except for one when I just couldn't get done. I used to comment on about 75% of them, but in the past couple of months, that has dropped down to about 10 to 15% of them, also due to time. |

I think I have only missed voting on 2 challenges since I joined in July 02, but when I vote, I always vote 100%, and I comment as much as time allows. I don't worry much about submitting in every challenge since *life* often makes that almost impossible, and I'm not going to submit a shot just to be submitting.

In terms of voting, I started skipping challenges when the number of submissions got too high. I just can't mentally process too many more than 100 photos in a challenge (plus being on dialup doesn't help). I end up missing out on nuances and creativity because I can't look at the photos long enough, and that disappoints me too much.
The first challenges I didn't submit to were while I was traveling around the US last July. Then I got too sick of the limitations of my old camera, and I started a course that took up (and still does) my weekends and 3 evenings a week, so I stopped participating at all for a little while. But I bought a new camera and because of that I've made time to go out and take photos. I still can't resolve the voting issue, but members challenges make it easier. As long as they don't get as big as the open ones, I can vote on all the photos.
I don't think heavy participation is as important as quality participation, personally. If you can take the time to REALLY look at the photos you vote on, but not vote on all of them, I think that's more important. Also, if you submit the photos you're proud of, in the challenges that inspire you, I think you'll get more out of the site. But it's all down to what you enjoy. We're only here for our own amusement, after all :). |

I've voted on all images in all the open challenges since the Illusions challenge. I'll leave comments when the picture moves me to say something about it (good or bad).
I've had entries in all open challenges, bar the landscape challenge, since then. It usually comes down to time as a couple of my entries have been last minute shots (and it shows!)

I participate in all open challenges (but missed 3 in October/November when I broke my first digital camera).
Generally I try to vote on at least 20% of the photos, and I provide comments when I feel inspired to by the photo. Of the votes I give, I probably comment on at least 60%. The Landscape challenge was where I tried to vote on all of the photos, because it's a subject that interests me very much, but I ran out of time.

I've participated in all challenges but two or three since the Stop Motion challenge, and I've voted on 100% of the photos except (I think) three challenges when I ran out of time. I think I've averaged commenting on about 15% of entries. |

I participate, vote and comment purely as time permits which, during the latter half of last year, was not much. Doing better now, though. Work, kids, school, vacations. All too much. Plus I prioritized my fantasy football teams over dpc, so only me to blame on that count. Still, I stopped by every week to view the winners, and just keep up with things. My less than stellar particiation rate is no reflection on my enjoyment of this site and it's growing community. |

I have voted on all entries since joining in July and try to comment on at least 25%. This includes the week that I missed. |
